My name is Cassie, I am 38, from Los Angeles, CA. 4th of July.jpg
I started my journey July 2017 when my husband told me I was too fat, I couldn't get out of a chair and he wanted to separate. On June 8, 2017 I weighed 394 pounds. Today I weight 310 pounds. As part of my efforts to reconcile my relationship I signed up for Options at Kaiser. Soon after I realized that my marriage was not repairable but I was. I busted my butt and finished at the top of my Options class. By November I was able to meet my surgeon. My surgery was scheduled for March 26, 2018 and I was so happy I was continuing to loose weight myself and kept my eye on the prize.......VSG.
Also towards the end of November I met a guy who I became friends with. We both were working on loosing weight. Things were looking up for me.
On January 19, 2018 I was in a very bad accident that was caused by a 16 year old new driver. I was in a lot of pain. Come February they decided it was not a good idea to proceed with the surgery as I needed to continue treating for my injuries. I was devastated.
Also around that time my friendship blossomed into something more. We both are each other's rock still to this day.
Through my continued care it thought was brought up to go ahead and reschedule my surgery to help my pain management. My doctor emailed my surgeon who responded back and scheduled me an appointment for the day after Christmas, December 26, 2018. When I went to the appointment he said he was skeptical to see me because most people gain weight back after cancelled surgery's but I had not. I left that afternoon with a surgery date of February 26, 2019. Finally things were coming full circle for me.
On January 22, 2019 I got a call to move my surgery to February 5, 2019. I went for my pre-op on January 25, 2019. I am almost there. Eight more days.
