    Question Help

I am almost 4 years post surgery.
    I
Have had great success and feel great.
I still work out faithfully changing up routine
In past few months I have started gaining a pound a week.
I don’t eat much but have cut down to working out 3 days s week
Any tricks to turn my weight loss around and not workout 6 days s week
I am 60 and work full time so active

If you are watching your food (i.e., protein, healthy carbs and lots of water) then maybe you could just walk on the days on't work out.

The only way I know how much I'm eating is to plan and track my food / drink intake daily on My Fitness Pal. Believe me, I get a lot of guff on this board for still doing this 4.5 years post-op. But it's what keeps my weight stable.

Yes, some days I eat more than others. And although I aim to eat healthy, I do wander into the celebration carb lane from time to time. But I still count everything I eat. Surprisingly, I'm usually shocked that the calories weren't higher than I'd imagined they were.

Even if you don't want to track long-term, maybe you would benefit from doing it right now to be sure about what and how much is actually going into your mouth.

P.S. I always weigh those foods I'm inclined to underestimate, e.g., cheese.

Best wishes to you in halting your regain and losing it (if you choose to do so).

I'm only 16 months out so not really qualified to give advice. I still track everything I eat, in both a diary and an online app (that gives me an idea of calories and helps me keep track of my protein intake), I also still weigh and measure most of my food. I have had such success and now that I am in maintenance I want that to continue so I will keep tracking my food. I am totally honest and always include everything I eat - even the stuff that I know probably shouldn't be going into my mouth on occasions. I also weigh myself every morning. These things are not for everyone but I feel that it is what I need to do.
I also work full time and don't like the gym so I don't work out but I do walk for 45-60 mins most days and I have just started yoga classes.

In my opinion sticking to high protein low carb foods is the trick as soon as you step away and sneak in some of the other (Good stuff) you were used to, the lbs go up again. I am new to this still (9 Months out) so I'm still learning as well. Good luck!!

I have a youtube channel where i have documented my journey if anyone is interested. Click below on my signature and it should take you there.

Trying to be. Had my second class last night. I have discovered that kneeling is an issue for me but I have a yoga "block" that I shove under my butt that is helping. Hopefully I will get a little more flexible the more I do. I really like it!

Really hard to say without knowing what your intake is like.

I'm in the same boat, over 4 years out and have gained some. Not too much, but enough to make my jeans tight. I am very active, always have been, but I know I am eating more than I should. Here's what I'm doing.

    1. Keeping a journal to log everything I put into my mouth.
    2. Skiing this week, but will join Weight Watchers next week. I'm a "lifetime" so only have to pay until I get back to goal. Their new plan is exactly how sleeved people are taught to eat. For me it's easier than tracking everything on your own, an app does it all for you. I also enjoy the group camaraderie, it's basically people in my neighborhood, so it's just fun.
    3. I refuse to buy any new clothes, the tight pants are a good reminder to get back on track.

As the years go by, in my opinion, it gets more difficult. I think it's because we can eat more. The restriction is still there, but where I used to be able to eat about 1/4 of a chicken breast, now it's 2/3. I always say it's a good thing I love to exercise, because I am definitely not perfect about my diet.

Off to snowshoe in Rocky Mountain National Park!! That should burn some calories.
