    Default Never skinny enough

This morning I am 116.8. Thin, right? Should be able to wear anything I want, right? Wrong! I have this gorgeous dress that I want to wear to a Mardi Gras ball. It's size 2. I should be able to fit into a size 2. I can't! Not even close. It's about 4 inches from zipping in the back. No matter how much I weigh, my ribcage will never be small enough. It makes me sad and it makes me feel fat even though I know I'm not.

I thought everybody understood that all size 2s are not the same size. And all size 14s are not the same size. And all size 3Xs are NOT the same size!

Right now in my closet are pieces of clothing that fit me in sizes 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, XS, S, M and L and XL.

For example, this morning I am wearing 30 (leg length) and 30-inch waist Levi 501s (they fit below the waist), a Wrangler's denim shirt in size small, and an MSRP faux leather jacket in size XL. And each of those pieces fits me perfectly.

But as focused as you are, Katrina, and as you always have been, on being skinny-skinny-skinny and maybe the skinniest person in the room, I bet you're right: You never will feel skinny enough.

Ok. Obviously, not all sizes are the same size across the board. I have double zeros, zeros, twos, and fours that all fit

Where do you get off claiming that I've always been focused on being skinny skinny skinny, even the skinniest in the room? I didn't choose to be this skinny. My goal was 135. My body settled at this size. Sure, I enjoy it now that I'm used to it, but it's not like I fight to keep it this way. I don't restrict sugar, not eat the foods I want, or exercise myself to death. I just want to fit in the fucking gorgeous dress.

Maybe you're projecting. Does it piss you off that my weight is low without following rules or working for it? I dont understand your vitriol over me wanting to wear a beautiful dress that I just happen to be disappointed I can't fit in.

Maybe you should have a Snickers.

It is a lovely dress -- 4" is tough, but if you sew, you can add a lace-up gusset to the back and if well done to match the dress, it wouldn't be noticeable, especially in NOLA, where "Laissez le bon temps rouler" is the rule.

    Just a suggestion.

You really have me worried Katrina...
I am sorry for you that you don't fit the dress you love, but is that really, really what is bothering you?
You seem to like telling people that you eat junkfood, don't exercise, don't restrict sugar, but you forget to mention that you throw up every day.
How does that work for you?
You can't blame people for thinking that is a little bit... obsessed maybe?
I mean, being upset over a dress that doesn't fit, but not doing anything about the much bigger problem you obviously have?
Please Katrina, take better care of yourself and find yourself good persons to help you.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

HI Katrina, I can relate to you. I know I am now thinner than I have been in a very long time, but not my thinnest I have ever been. I am happy with my weight, not my excess skin though. I can relate to having fat days. I am sure not fitting in the beautiful dress has stressed you out, but please remember that not all clothes are cut to the same measurements. You are looking great and as much as you want to fit into the dress, either have it altered or find something similar. Hope you start to feel better about yourself and that you realize that you are skinny and that clothes don't tell the story and try no to be so hard on yourself. ( from someone who doesn't necessarily practice what she preaches!) Go well.

Jesus Christ! So you're telling me that NONE of you have ever wanted to fit into something, and been disappointed when you didn't fit? I call bullshit. This has nothing to do with me wanting to be skinnier. It has nothing to do with the fact that I vomit when I eat HEALTHY food. I eat junkfood because my stomach handles it well. I don't exercise because I'm lazy. I take my vitamins. My blood work is fine. God forbid I feel a twinge of sadness for not being able to fit in the dress I want to wear so badly. Lesson learned: don't express any feelings here because suddenly you're obsessed with being the thinnest. GTFOH!

    Katrina,
I totally get it. I’m nowhere near goal weight. But I have a pair of jeans size women’s 24 I have been dying to fit into. My stomach is still too big. It’s frustrating because I fit into other size 24 things. I know eventually it will fit but I’m not happy about it not being now.

LOL! You may be right about all the record keeping and counting I do.

OK, I'll cop to being obsessed that way.

But like I say, it's what works for me, and others' mileage may vary.

And I'll admit to being on this site WAY too much, so you could say I'm obsessed. But it's fun and helpful! I guess retirement gives me more time on my hands. At least I have a job for tomorrow and we're going skiing next week.

Right. We all have our things. Ann and Sharon, you're both here a lot. I am too. You know what else we have in common? We've kept our weight off for a significant amount of time. I can't see the problem with "obsessions" or "determination", mine included when we've put ourselves through so much to lose the weight. Of course we should be determined and obsessed with keeping it off.

I think the whole point of my original post was completely missed though. I'll never be skinny enough to fit in that dress because my bone structure won't allow it, not because I need to lose more weight. I have a wide ribcage. Now, if I were truly determined, I could always go have a couple of ribs removed

Now I understand what you meant Katrina, I am sorry for misunderstanding you.
    Thanks for clarifying.

Having said that, I really am concerned about the throwing up part though.
Can't you find someone to help you figure out what is going on and why that is?
It must be awful to have this every day for the rest of your life...

Btw, it is a lovely dress!
I see, why you would be able to wear that on (or is it at?) Mardi Gras.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.
