Smile Repost from another site I'm on...

QOTD: What three things do you think of the most each day? Hmmmm. Right now?

    1. Mental health - big change in my MDD medication has me way off balance (not bad but off balance) and I'm not sure if this is how "normal" people feel. I mean, it's not "flat affect" but its very quiet in my head.

    2. Food & colds - I wandered into the sugar cookie Christmas snack over the holidays, and I think the sugar has contributed to the continual colds I'm getting. Not to mention up 4 lbs. So focus is back to VERY basics for a few days. And put the Hershey kisses where they could not call out to me.

    3. Hair - my perpetual bugaboo. It was always long, thick, wavy & black. Then it was chemo gone. Then it was back curlier and black. Then it was chemo gone. Then I bit the bullet of no chemicals on hair and it was silver & salt & pepper and curly. Then surgery/transfusions gone. Now short, growing back and curly. I am not sure who I am in the mirror.

    4. My adult-children. They are compassionate and independent, and successful. But I miss them.

    5. DH - he's marvelous supportive, kind and losing his hearing a bit more.

As I look at the list, it's really not so much to handle. Just not sure how to approach the quieter brain. I've lived with "brain rain" forever.

    B: protein shake and coffee

    L: Salad with chicken

    S: Chobani yogurt

    S: Protein shake

D: Homemade Anderson's split pea soup

Trying for 850 calories with lots of protein for a few days to get back on track.

Grateful for each of you who posts - y'all are in my prayers (and its 20 degrees in NC with freezing rain expected tomorrow.)

Shoutout to Ann2, sraebaer, Christie13, Edie, tinman and each of you who have helped me get back on track.

    Hi Ann,
I'm also fighting to get back on track. I know that we can do it. We've done it before and we'll do it now. Last week I opened a journal and started writing down what I ate--back to tracking like Weight Watchers. I have to say that it was very helpful. The gym is really where I have to push myself. The three things that I think about are:
    1. Getting back to my favorite number on the scale
    2. Retirement--what am I going to do with myself everyday?
    3. Financial freedom!

It's a funny old time of the year isn't it?!
Over Christmas we can find ourselves putting things into our mouths that we normally wouldn't. For you guys in the US it's cold so we seek comfort, sometimes in the form of food....and it's also a new year and we are reflecting on the year/s that have been and thinking about new beginnings and what we can do differently in the year to come.
We all know what we should do when it comes to eating and we can do it.
So no-one needs to beat themselves up about what we have done, we just need to refocus and move on and get ourselves back on track.

Annie, you are beautiful whatever state your hair is in. Personally I think it looks fab in the silver tones. I'd love to have curly hair - mine is as straight as a straight thing ;-)

Annie, I love you so much, you are just an absolute joy. Maybe you can just sit with the quiet brain for a bit, new things take a while to get used to yes? I also love your hair, and your face, and your gorgeous, generous and beautiful nature xx
