Hi everyone, I just wanted to give a brief introduction of myself. My name is Alice and I live in Las Vegas and do writing and painting. I have been going through the steps for surgery for about a year now and finally have a date scheduled (Feb. 7). I wanted to join a forum both for the support and the good information here! Learn from those before you or you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes!

The reason I am doing the surgery is because I am borderline diabetic, have high BP and a BMI of 43. Things aren't getting any better on their own so I am going to take the plunge. 2 wks and change out I am going back and forth between nervous and excited.

However, I wish myself and everyone here great success!

HI Alice, good luck. I was nervous before my journey and even wondered if i should go ahead with it. I am now 9 months out and loving life again. Wishing you all the success.

Welcome, Alice! This is a wonderful collective group of help and encouragement. I'm a bit over a year out, and have learned so much not just about the sleeve, but about living a "larger" life now that I 'm smaller.

Congratulations on having your surgery scheduled! Very exciting. Being nervous is super normal. Especially when you get to the hospital and reality of what your doing hits you. You might even have the “what did I do to myself” thoughts shortly after surgery, but you won’t regret it!
