    Default Timeline of events

    Hi everyone,
I was wondering of someone could post the timeline involved for going through the surgery and the aftercare.
I know you have to do some prep work. How many days of what? then the surgery and a few days after, then liquid diet and then pureed then solid...I've done some reading but i never get the whole process in one place.

Every surgeon is different. Some have to do 2 weeks of the pre-op diet, others just can't eat after midnight before surgery. I had 5 days of protein shakes. Here's the diet progression I followed. 2 weeks liquids (basically protein drinks), 1 week soft food, and then other foods were added each week until I was cleared for all foods at 6 weeks. Good luck!

Sharon is spot on that all surgeons are different. I had 2 week preop - 800 calories a day Optifast. Then 4 days clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquid, 2-3 weeks puree (depending on how it was being tolerated) about 10 days smushee and then real food. Sometimes I go back a step if my stomach is giving me issues.

It's a wonderful process to relearn how you view yourself and food.
