    Default pre surgery diet

I started my VLC (800) diet 8 days ago. Finding it quite hard going with all the food and soda not allowed to have. Lost 3kg

The soda thing is really hard. Find an alternative that you like to drink. I found I really liked pink lemonade crystal light. It helped a lot. I will say after surgery I was scared to drink soda so it was way easier.

The pre op diet (I think this is what you are referring to) is only for a finite period. It is a good time to get into some good habits in preparation for your surgery and your life afterwards.
It will definitely be worth it.
    Hang in there.

The pre op diet can be hard to follow, but it's so important to have a safe surgery that it's worth the effort!

You will be able to eat any kind of food post-op, but try to avoid soda in the future, because it is empty calories and after a while if you go back to drinking soda, you could regain the weight easily.
In all the studies, people who regain post-op start to usually regain after one year, mainly from drinking their calories, or eating lots of carbs (easier to eat, you can eat more of it). That why doctors and Nut advise protein first, then veggies, then little carb: it is so important on the long run.

You will do great!! just hang in there, the best part is coming!!
losing all the obesity linked issues is worth staying away from soda.

    Take care!

Hang in there. Keep your eye on the prize. The pre op is harder than the post op! You got this!

Thank you. Keeping to 800 calories would be fine if allowed yoghurts, fruit etc. Only another few days, surgery on 24th.

Oh the 24th is almost here! Well done in posting so you can get off to the best start. I never drank sodas, so that one wasn't a thing. But its not just all the artificial things in it but the fizz as well, which overfills your stomach. Nutrition will be your biggest friend and focus going forward.

Best to you! Let us know how you are after surgery.
