    Default I kept my dinner!

I think tonight may have been the first time in over 4 years that I've gone to a restaurant, and kept my dinner down. I go out to eat several times a week, so this was huge for me. Husband didn't have to pull the car over or scramble to find a bag while driving home. I even felt fine once I got home. It's a miracle. I had a whole crescent roll, a couple of bites of salad, two bites of my steak, and one bite of my husband's cheese ravioli with chicken. I'm so proud of my tummy!

I am glad that dinner agreed with you!
But are you saying, that you throw up several times a week?
    No idea why that is?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

I throw up or "toad froth" a couple times of week, so I hear you about the bags in the car and pulling over. Usually its when I eat too fast. And most of the time going out means I eat more slowly since there is more conversation and hub bub.

However, I have always carried all my stress in that area -- either nausea, throwing up or diarrhea can happen with stress. So it may not be the sleeve. But congratulations! Figure out what you did and keep on@

Dutch, I throw up every day, sometimes a few times a day. Typically if I eat anything other than my protein shake, chips, candy or noodles, I am going to throw up. My stomach is a cranky one. This is one reason I still rely heavily on my protein shakes. I have started having one for lunch in addition to my one for breakfast because the minute I eat something solid/dense my tummy rebels.

Does your surgeon know? There must be some reason the is happening after so many years.

Sraebaer, I haven't seen or talked to my surgeon in years. I only saw him once since my surgery, and that was for my daughter's surgery. While he is in the US, having surgery with him was really no different than if I had gone to Mexico - in and out and never to be seen again. I'm not even sure who I can talk to about my issues. I considered calling the guy that did my mom and dad's surgeries, but when I briefly spoke to him at one of their surgeries he didn't even recognize that reflux and sleeve surgery aren't great together. So, I've done nothing, and live with it.

I didn't keep my dinner last night. Chicken quesadillas didn't sit well. Had some of my wonderful potato soup afterwards, and did just fine.

That stinks that you are still throwing up so frequently. My tummy tolerates everything unless I overeat.

I’m fortunate. I’ve only thrown up once the whole time after surgery. I had enjoyed some salmon and spinach during my 15 minute break at work. Started sneezing, developed horrible post nasal drip which led me into a coughing fit. There went dinner. It was before I realized my “tell” is a runny nose. I know it was probably because I was forced to eat too quickly. I learned a lot from that day. One was to not eat too fast. And the other was to listen to my body.

Throwing up has never been fun, but especially after the sleeve. Katrina, I know you know your body better than anyone here; however, I don’t think throwing up that much is good. It could cause more problems down the line. (I’m thinking erosion of the esophagus which can lead to cancer.) please get it checked out.
