Small victory today, after 14 long days of no progress, I weighed in this morning another 3 pounds down. Three pounds has never felt so gratifying. Its funny, I lost 30 pounds on full liquids, nothing on Purees, and then yesterday, I decided to just try to eat some other foods. I got it down easily, didn't have any digestion issues, and consumed 876 calories which is a record high for me since surgery. Then boom weight loss.
To the veterans, do you think my body was reacting to having too little nutrition for so long? I was averaging 500-700 a day and never really felt hungry but I did feel tired alot. I feel better today and have more energy.
I did move into the next phase (soft foods) before my doctor cleared me. But I felt like I could handle it, and I can. Hopefully he doesn't chastise me too much, but I should have seen him friday for clearance but he didn't have anything available until Jan 16. So that was the day he was going to clear me. And 4 weeks of puree was too much. I was ready and I moved myself along. Anyone else trust your body over your doctor? I just want to make sure I am not doing myself a disservice.
