    Cool UP to goal weight

Over the holiday, I went "up" to my goal weight of 130, where I am still today. I actually have more energy, and my face does not look quite as hollow and gaunt.

Anyone else find a little more weight was better?

I have made some knowing choices that were fun, but not healthy. I found it made me feel yukky. So back on track. We will be traveling for a few weeks ... our after Christmas break. Not sure why but it seems like I do better when I am traveling than just when I'm at home. I think I need to re start journaling as I suspect I am eating when I am bored....

Hoping y'all have a wonderful start to the New Year!

I wouldn't mind gaining a few pounds, but it's still not happening.
I decided I'm not going to actively "try" to, because that stresses me out...
It may or may not happen over time.

You have a great time traveling!
What are you going to do?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

After the second year you can eat much more, still having the restriction but you eat much more than the first year (going from like 1/4 Plate to 1/2) . Indeed you need to adjust your food choices accordingly and increase veggies at that point. Your body should regulate himself after year 2. That's when most sleevers have gained back (stats).

I have never had the problem of losing too much weight - I wish! I have to fight to keep at goal weight, and I'm not even skinny. I would love to be 10 under goal before Kilimanjaro next summer, but now it's even more after my birthday and Christmas as I am 4 pounds above goal! Plus the entire family including 6 grandkids are here for the week. I think I need an intervention.

Oh I hear you! Granddaughters wanted to make sugar cookies with Grannie Annie, and of course we did. And a gingerbread house (which thank God I don't like)....but the tamales, the enchiladas, the queso blanco....I just think I grazed!

We plan a trip out home (WA state) next summer and a week at the Grand Canyon; I need to work on stamina! You are one of my heroes because you seem to be fearless!

And I think you look fantastical healthy!

Perhaps I can loan you my granddaughters and after baking sugar cookies and other fun things, and tasting it all....no not the best way to add a few pounds. I'm finding I am naturally gravitating back to healthy choices since the sugar was tasty, but I felt funky.

We are only going to the coast for 2 weeks; we meet friends from my husband's hometown -- they've been friends over 60 years. And we've spent 30 years of NY Eve with them. Once a group of 18 couples, it's just two couples this year. We dress up fancy, go out for one drink, and then come home and cook and swap stories.

I find the beach in winter relaxing; although the last two years we got snow! But the sound and quiet, the soothing grayness. And Gary & Sherry are fun. We take our dogs, who also love dirty sandy beach feet.

Oh yes I had a point where I got about 10 lbs from my doctors goal weight of 148 lbs but I felt terrible my face was sunken my bones stuck out and I had zero energy. I now hold myself between 180 and 210. Being below 180 for me just isn't healthy at all. If i had skin removal maybe 160 would feel good but I doubt that. I am 5'9" tall and built with all the right curves when I weigh 200lbs but at 155 I had no boobs they were just flaps hanging there and my butt was saggy. Even my knees were rubbing together when i walked and it hurt badly. I was bruising my hips with my elbows because they had no padding at all. Getting too small isnt fun at all.

I'm the opposite of you, Annie. I can NOT stop eating when I travel. The minute I get in the car for a trip, I've got food in my mouth until I get back home. At home I most don't eat until dark, but then it's a free for all after dark. It's weird.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    Hi,

After following a low carb diet for 10 months, I was able to drop close to 15 pounds. I think all of us will benefit from a low carb diet - lower risk of diabetes, obesity, gastric disorders, and bodily inflammation. It might look tough on the surface to get rid of card - I mean hello, carbs dominate our diet. Pastas, breads, rice, potatoes - all of these are rich in carbs.

So how do you eliminate these and still have great options to eat??

The secret is - when you lower your carbs - you need to adequately adjust your fats and proteins intake (A keto diet) so that you are not famished or lacking in nutrients.

I have to eat junk occasionally to make sure I do not get too skinny. I feel a little better now that I am getting some muscles from strength training. I was also looking too gaunt.

I have read this before from you and it sounds soooo good!
    So, what is your secret?
Ik know that you stayed your lowest weight for a very long time.
Did you change anything, to add a couple of pounds?
Are you (like Tinman) relying on your restriction?

How does that work for you?
I think I am too chicken to be adventurous and start eating anything, I am really scared about regaining too much and than start to yo-yo...
