    Question Left Side Incision

    Hey All ! ( & Merry Christmas) -

I am Post Op day 14 and boy does my left incision still hurt! Its more of a muscle pain at this point. The incision isn't tender. It just hurts when I lay a certain way or use my torso in any way ( bend down, reach for something...). What do you guys think? I know that I was told that my left incision should hurt the most (which it did). But, I didn't think it would be feeling this way now when everything else is going so swimmingly!

Happy to hear what you guys think!

    Thank you

I had my pains on my right side. They told me that it was most likely scar tissue or maybe I had pulled a muscle from doing too much so soon. I hope the pain gods away!

Could be where the surgeon pierced through a muscle to get to the abdominal cavity, or is it the larger hole they make, the one they pull the piece of stomach out?

Ultimately if you’re concerned go and see the hospital where you had the op?

That aside I trust all is going well?

    And, Merry Christmas.

From what I’ve heard is the worst incision is from where they pull the stomach out of and also the drainage port hole. Just as long as it’s getting better and not worse you should be good. I don’t really think any of mine hurt worse. One was just bigger because my stomach came through it.

I had pain at my largest incision site for 3-4 weeks. It was from the internal stitch. I was okay laying down but getting up and walking was horrible. Eventually the stitch released and I felt completely better. Also mine was on the right side, but some surgeons do thing different. Hope you feel better soon.

My big one took a while to fully heal. Way longer than the others. It was never excruciating. It was just tender. As long as you do not have any fever and it is not super painful I would not be too concerned. But if you are really worried reach out to your surgeon.
