Heartburn and Indigestion HELP!

During and after most meals I get indigestion. I am still taking Mylicon drops but they are too pricey for the quantity in the bottle. Does any one have other suggestions to take that are mild enough for our situation?

I think the medication sometimes makes things worse. Try not taking any and just using Gaviscon if you need. I stopped taking the proton pump inhibitors about a week afterwards, as I felt they made me feel ill. Once I stopped taking them I was fine, on the odd occasion I might need some Gaviscon and then its because I have eaten too quickly or something that doesn't agree with me. Good luck!

I can't remember when I started but I began taking Omeprazole daily. If I miss a day, I survive, if I miss more than that it becomes intolerable. It sucks.

Sorry to hear that. Did you have bad heartburn/indigestion before surgery?

I did prilosec and gradually tapered down to one a week as needed. You might try smaller bites, pausing longer between bites, and eating smaller meals. If you need to have more smaller meals to get your protein in a fair number of people do that. Can also be specific to what you are eating. Salad still gives me problems.

I took Prilosec and occasionally if I needed something more I took Tums as my surgeon said that was ok.
