Post Wow its been a long time

When I began my journey this site was my only means of support outside of my immediate family. I felt like the people here were the only ones who wold truly understand and because of that I am now over 7 years out from my VSG and I am still a success!
I just wanted to say thank you to ALL of you even if you've just joined this site. Without people who understood what I was going through I would never have come this far. I actually came back here today to copy my blog posts into a file so that I could go back and read them as I work on my book about my success and how I have managed to maintain it. But I had to just say thank you all first! The things I gained from surgery have been the best thing I could have ever done for myself. It wasn't easy but it was worth it! Tomorrow is my 34th birthday and I couldn't be happier with the person I am today. Ten years ago I weighed 500 lbs. I felt like I was disgusting and I thought I was everything bad when it came to how I looked. Now I weigh 200 lbs and I am modeling for local photographers. Never stop believing you can do it!!!

7 years, I think you may win the prize for the longest person on this site. Congrats on your long term success. It's so easy to lose the weight, and not as easy to keep it off. You're a rock star!

Thank you, but I know there are many who have been on her who were further out than me. I try hard to keep myself on track everyday and not give into the food bullying that occurs way too often.

    Hey Ace!!

Glad you came back in here!! welcome back!!

You reached 500 pounds, lost more than half your weight and even more impressive maintained for a very long time, which is huge!! not many people can maintain especially for the "bigger" (I was over 300 pounds which in the stats is also in the morbidly obese and the most at risk, like you were).

I wish you success in writing your book, let us know when it's done!! it will be an inspiration for many, it's important to find hope when weight is such a struggle.

Best wishes for 2019, happy holidays!!

Hey, Ace! Great to hear your voice and see your pretty face again.

You're doing so wonderful. I'm so very happy for you.

Yes, you're definitely an "old timer" around here. Or maybe "veteran" is a better term to use. You're also a great role model for us. Thank you for coming back and waving the weight maintenance flag.

I'm nearly 4.5 years post-op, lost 100 pounds and have kept it all off. I weighed 133 pounds this morning, which just tickles me no end.

We each have to find our own way to maintain our weight losses after WLS. There are some basic principles we all recognize and follow, but the ways we emphasize those principles seem to vary a bit.

I really look forward to reading your book. Please let us know when and where it will be available.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you.

    Ann

Hi Ace! Congrats on being an amazing, inspiring, success story. It is so great to see you have been able to maintain for so long. A lot of people stumble and then have to recommit after gaining quite a bit. You are so awesome for staying the course. It is great that you are writing a book. Once again, congrats!!

    You truly are an ACE!
    Congratulations on your continuing succes.
That is very inspirational and it tells me, that we can maintain, als long as we work hard.
I sure hope to be able to tell the same story five years from now.
    Thank you!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.
