Wink Excited about my day yesterday... 8 weeks post op

This emotional & physical roller coaster ride gets so much better for my emotional state when I meet my little goals... After my 2 pound "gain" last week (probably water weight), I decided only to weigh myself on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Or important dates, like my 8 week post op day. I weighed 213!!! I haven't been under 217 since I got pregnant with my daughter 15.5 years ago! Then!!! My husband went to Walmart... he found some Dickie hoodies on clearance for $3. He bought me a 2x (because that's what I always get in men's sizes). Seriously, it could be a hoodie dress on me! That has NEVER happened to me! I'm still struggling with some MS symptoms & energy but I'm so very grateful for this opportunity! And I'm so grateful for y'all! I've done my share of complaining, asking questions that have probably been asked a thousand times and I've always gotten some great feedback! I'm going to wait til Christmas to do pictures but I encourage everyone to do measurements and pictures, even if you don't share them! They will be your saving grace one day. Don't look at the numbers on the scale. They can be so deceiving! Have a great day everyone!

I just can't wait to bring in a little more calories. I've burned 2,200 calories today and have only ate 200. It can be physically draining. Still wouldn't change my decision for the world.

You could sit in a chair the entire 24 hours of the day, and still burn calories. We burn calories just breathing. That's why it's so important to bring in the same amount of calories or close to rather. Since we can't get even close to that, it can make you very dizzy and weak. I've had 2 back surgeries and I have MS so I'm not supposed to sit for longer than 30 minutes at a time or stand the same. I'm constantly getting up doing something, sitting to rest and then something else a little while later. Then I also have 6 kids and a husband I tend to. He's my 7th child and the most needy. That being said, he works 14 hours a day, 6 days a week so he really needs me to do everything else that has to be done for our family. By the time I went to bed last night, I had burned 2,600 calories. Here's a quote from healthyliving.azcentral.com

"An average woman of 30 who weighs 150 pounds burn approximately 1,500 calories per day, or 63 calories per hour, simply by staying alive. A man of 40 who weighs 200 pounds will need 1,900 calories, or approximately 80 calories per hour, to just be."

You may want to google "metabolic reset after wls".
You will find that the pre op numbers don't apply to the post op situation.

    But you are doing great!
Taking measurements is a really smart thing to do, you will see (even in a stall) that the numbers still go down.
And please: keep asking those questions!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Lol. Idk if it's because I've only had 3 hours of sleep or if my brain can't soak up that info but I'm confused by it? Which numbers? The calorie deficit? I need more sleep. Lol. If it weren't for taking my measurements, I could have ended up in an emotional slump. I refuse to let that happen. Being able to wear different clothes only 8 weeks after surgery feels so good. I'll go by those numbers any day over the numbers on the scale.

    I meant this one.
Our metabolic rate changes with the wls.
I have put a link somewhere on this board, from a bariatric surgeon from Australia, who explains very well, how much our average calorie intake after wls.
I'll put a screenshot I took from the video here.

    Caloric Intake after WLS.jpg

I love your attitude and commitment btw.
Take care of yourself and figure out what works best for you.
We are all different and take a different path.
    So exiting!

Oh that's so exciting! I'm so excited for the future... for all of us! This page is a nice tool to have because we can see everyone's ticket, their profile with the date of their surgery as oppose to asking every person you talk to that has had the sleeve. I'm in a Facebook group and never really talked in it even though I'm a talker (if you can't already tell, lol) because it's hard to remember all that information. Here, you can just go to profiles to refresh your memory.

I got 75g of protein today! I can't even believe it! I put one half scoop of Isopure in my chicken broth, twice today. Then tonight I had Isopure cookies 'n cream. That was 50 grams already right there. Had some chicken, pepperoni & cheese to finish meeting my goal. That's so exciting!
