    Default back home!

HI all After being away for a month I am home. California was great and I love spending time with my sister and her family and only wish we lived nearer to each other. I managed to join a gym and go to the gym and I also managed to sort of keep to my normal eating plan, however I was often not hungry and did live on allot of protein bars. I have come home 1.5kg lighter and so I am thrilled. Now to get over the jet lag and get back into my routine of gym everyday and counting calories. I have 5.5kg to go to get to my goal weight. I am pleased with what I have achieved so far as it only been 8 months since my surgery. I have noticed that I have a little bit more hanging skin that I would like, but I am hoping that I will tome up once I get going with the weight training seriously again. I am off to South Africa in just under 4 weeks and would like to be at 2kg lighter, as the food there is delicious. Thanks to all those who inspire me on this forum, it has certainly helped me to get to this point and quickly as well.

Sounds as though you had a great time with your family.
Sometimes it's a bit tricky to eat as we would like when we are away from home but we do the best with what is available.
You should be very pleased with your success so far. You are doing great!

That is great Ellie! Glad you were able to still lose on vacation. In time and with continued weight training your skin will continue to tone up. Mine was much worse before than it is now. And now the amount that is still lose does not bother me at all. You got this. And I know you will be hitting your goal in no time!

    Welcome back Ellie.
Great you had such a wonderful time with your family and then came home lighter than you left!
Only 5,5 kg to go, you can totally do this!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Wonderful news! Glad you got to enjoy your family and lose weight at the same time!

I typically come home from vacations with a gain, and then have to work to get it off right away. Hopefully this trip of skiing for 8 days I won't gain. I am definitely drinking a ton of water to ward away the altitude sickness, it works.

Why do you think that is, sraebaer?
It really freaks me out, to think that it is so easy to regain...
Even in a couple of days/weeks.

I think it's that I'm out of my regular environment, for example we have no junk in our house and my husband cooks amazing, healthy meals, but when we visit our adult kids and grandkids their house is full of junk. And I have no willpower.

Or maybe when I'm on vacation my mind just thinks yippee, VACATION!! and I forget about everything I should be doing.

We are skiing this week and the restaurants really don't have anything I should be eating. At least I'm exercising. Excuses, I know. But I always get back on track.
