Psych eval

Hey guys,


I was reading a forum a couple weeks ago about someone who did their psych eval online and they provided the website. Does anyone have that information?? The psychologist my surgeon referred me to is trying to charge 500 alone for one appointment. Thanks in advance

I had my evaluation last month and I did it over the phone. NY Dr gave me the referral and it cost me 150.00.
I believe it was called Bariatric Psyc evaluation. I can look to make sure tomorrow if you are interested. It was. Eryn simple!

That's crazy expensive. Mine was included in the one price I paid for everything, all the pre-op classes, surgery, hospital, aftercare, bloodwork, etc.

I wonder if you tell your doctor you can't afford it if you could just skip it. Mine was just talking about my weight. Certainly not worth $500.

Try to use your health insurance and look for a certified psychologist, counselor who is certified to do a bariatric clearance. It's a course that some professionals take and become certified and it's pretty basic. 500.00 is really expensive.

Wow that is expensive. You need to find out what your insurance requirements are if you are getting your surgery through insurance. There may be specific ones for the psych eval so make sure you check first. Good luck to you.
