    Default Adipex

So I had the Gastric sleeve done 2012 so recently I've gained 30lbs. I decided to go to the doctor who did my surgery to see if I can learn to go back to basics. He suggested Adipex. For the first week I take 1/2 of pill which I'm on day 5 then the next week take a whole tablet. I'm doing this for 3 months. I have noticed that I don't have so much cravings for sweets. Also I have increased my protein and eating a lot better. Yes I have a few bad things here and there but overall doing better. I'm also staying full longer and eating less food which I'm thinking because of the protein. The first 2 days it gave me energy for only a couple hours then by evening I would be so tired like I crashed. I'm sleeping ok at night. Day 5 and I have no energy at all still eating protein. My question is am I tired because I've cleaned up my diet and not so much sweets almost like having withdrawl or the Adipex is making me tired? Has anyone experienced this? If it keeps up I'll have to call the doctor make sure everything is ok. Or maybe I should wait until I start taking the full dose. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I took adipex years ago and don't remember it making me tired. I do remember it worked for a few weeks and then it quit. Going back to your surgeon for advice was very smart. I personally wouldn't take a stimulant. I'm done with all that stuff. I'm sure you were too since you opted for surgery so I'm not judging. I'd just count portion sizes, protein and sugars. Maybe your body is doing a sort of detox since you were eating carbs again. Eating sweets are bad news in the long run and short run.

I was on the generic and it stopped working after a few months. It's bad stuff. Really raised my blood pressure. Why not do the pouch reset diet?

Hello , I hv been on phentermine 2 months, after a few mths plateau my doc suggested this route. So I lost 16 lbs 1st month my dosing was same as urs. I did notice the energy boost, but not the bottom out at end of day. But I do take alot of meds due to failure of back surgerys, that's why docs put us on this regimen. I do take them same way and I don't crash in evening but I take them later,Becuz I stay up late and need the extra help at night :-) So keep up the great wrk and see what doc thinks if any other changes are needed
I'm still losin the weight? Not as fast. So just know ur not alone ! Good luck

I'm not sure if you're still active on this site as your last activity shows from 2016... I'm a fairly new sleever (surgery was 06/19/17) and I have struggled the entire time... if anything I've been the obsessive by the book patient but found early on I was overdoing it and possibly put my body in starvation mode due to the very low amount of calories and high amount of exercise I was doing. I have only lost 30-35 pounds in 7 months; with no weight loss in the past 4 months. my surgeon and pcp agree that I should begin the adipex regimen but I'm honestly scared . Did you continue on it or stop due to the fatigue and how is your weight loss now? thanks

    Really?
    That is what they said?
You don't eat enough as it is, you exercise is too much and they give you a hunger suppressant and a energy booster??
    Are you kidding?

You were sleeved six months ago, you honeymoon phase is not over for another year.
How about starting a healthy regime?
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Wow. I find it extroidinary that anyone would choose to take these drugs after surgery. I don't want to sound judgy but gawd that is insane. These pills don't work unless you keep taking them forever and then they wear off and make a hot mess of your mental health. The goal is to be strong and healthy. Good wise food choices and exercise. Even with the sleeve. There is no magic bullet or pill, unless you want to be a hot mess!
That said, it is hard for some people but getting support from someone who doesn't just offer legal 'meth' might be a start. The very best of luck to you.

I would not take the pills!!! They are always so bad for you in the long run. If you are not eating enough, you will need to up your calories. I know that whenever I was starting to stall it was a sign that I needed up my caloric intake. Every time I did I would start losing again. Just make sure you up your calories by eating nutritious foods such as lean proteins and veggies.
