Anyone able to *confortably* return to work one week after surgery? Did your surgeon provide a restrictions note for your employer for lifting, etc?
I took 2 weeks off work as I luckily had the time available. I possibly could have gone back after 1 as I have a desk based job.
I was happy to go back after the 2 weeks but I was still very tired at the end of the day and wasn't up to much else when I got home from work.
I took 2 weeks and am glad I did. One week would have been pushing it I think. I had no restrictions, but I taught middle school at the time so didn't have to lift kids or anything!!
I went back 5 days after surgery. I was able to walk around a lot and move around just fine. Part of my job can be very physical and I still haven’t resumed doing that part yet. I’m waiting a full 3 weeks even though I feel fine. I didn’t get restrictions, but my doctor would have written them. I can kind of do what I want so I didn’t need them. Everyone is different. Day 1 and 2 to day 4 was like night and day for me and I felt great. Some people have a rough time. To be safe I would take off a minimum of a solid week not counting weekends. Unless you have a chill desk job where you can take care of yourself.
