Default "Buyers remorse" for a short time after surgery??

Often, I hear about folks*who had "buyers remorse" for a short time after surgery.*

    If you experienced this....

When did it start, and how long did it last?

Any advice for others if they start to experience this?

    Thanks!

Not for a second have I ever regretted making the decision to be sleeved. Singlehanded the best thing that I have ever done for myself.

Honestly, I am. I have confirmed with my doctor I am hitting all the marks but I am only down 12 pounds in 28 days. So, now I have been pretty quite and internalizing regret. I could have paid for a house instead.

What price is your health and happiness?
Please don't be discouraged. Stick to the plan. It will all be ok.
Some people lose faster than others.....some take longer to get to their goal than others. We are all different.
Just make sure you keep to your surgeons instructions, get up and start moving as often and as much as you can. Weigh, measure all your food and keep account of what you are eating whether it be in a note book or on an online app.
Keep sight of the end goal - it will be ok :-)

It's only been 28 days. Don't get discouraged. Just think if you lost 12 pounds x 6 months. That's 72 lbs. It will take time, but in the end I bet you will be thrilled and not regret it. Best wishes!

I have a lot to lose. My Dr saya he thinks I will lose 150 lbs. I know that once I have surgery (mid January) I without doubt will have difficult times and maybe even feel "buyers remorse", but it will not deter me. I will find support to live the rest of my life healthy and happy.

    Really?
I lost 9,4 pounds the first month, so this actually makes me smile...

You might have needed a bit more money for a house :-o
Don't be discouraged, that is a fine weight loss. It's early days. Keep going! It's going to be fine :-)

One hour immediately coming out of anesthesia I thought what in the hell did I do as I was in pain and dry heaving. Doctor gave me something and I fell asleep. I woke up and buyers remorse was gone. Poof!!

Rex ... yes ... but it was very short-lived.

My second day home (3 days post-op) I experienced about two hours of "WTF have I done to myself?!" I didn't cry. I just "sat" with the realization that I had voluntarily let a surgeon cut 80% of my stomach off. Needless to say, this was during a time when I had to sip sip sip to get in enough water and I hadn't fully realized yet that my restriction at that point was incredibly small, compared to what it was going to be a few weeks / months later.

I guess what I can say is that the THEORY of being sleeved is not the same as the REALITY of having recently been sleeved. But like I said, that WTF time lasted really only a couple of hours.

I should also add that I had zero complications and I've never even thrown up post-op. I lost 100 pounds and have maintained that loss ever since because I've completely changed my lifestyle and my expectations for myself.

This works. If you work it.

Yep, post-op day 1 and 2 it went through my mind 24/7. I was in quite a bit of pain. I am now only 5 days post-op and have lost 7lbs in 5 days. I even tried a bite of green beans, bite of mashed potatoes, and tiny bite of chicken with no issues. No regrets now.
