Can you walk me through pre-op process, also weigh-in question

I will be completing my questionnaire next week at the surgery clinic I would like to use. What happens next? Meet with surgeon, then dietician then psych evaluation etc? When will I be weighed? Did you have to remove shoes and/or clothes for your weigh-in? (I am currently 5lbs shy of 40 BMI. I do have 1 co-morbidity-Sleep apnea-but I am so close to 40BMI it may be easier to just chug water before my weigh-in ). Thanks!

I have had 4 nutrition appointments and have one more in 3 weeks. I did the phsyc evaluation, blood work and need the EKG at my Drs this Friday. Almost done. Good luck!

Depends on your insurance. I know I had to be 40+ BMI because I only had 1 comorbidity and I needed 2 to be under 40 BMI. I was weighed fully clothed. I actually gained to qualify as I was just under 40. I also could not gain during my 6 months of supervised weight loss. But I could also not get below the 40 BMI before them submitting paperwork. I had to have 6 monthly visits with office nutritionist and they could not be less than 30 days apart. I had to have a psych eval. I had to have an ekg and endoscopy. I would contact your insurance to have them lay out the rules for you. And make sure your surgeon's office follows them.

Every clinic is different, they should give you a schedule of classes/appointments/etc.

Water is the perfect way to weigh more if you feel you need to in order to meet the requirements.

It really all depends on your clinic/surgeon and your insurance. I think every person on this forum has/had different requirements.
