Hello,
New to the site. Having sleeve procedure one week from today with Dr. Almanza. Nerves and anxiety through the roof today.
Hi Emily
Being nervous and anxious is normal. As you will have already been told any surgery carries some form of risk. However, this surgery is fairly routine now and there are loads of people on this forum who have had no issues at all with theirs.
I had never had any surgery before being sleeved so it was a case of what I didn't know I couldn't worry about. I was aware of the risks but the end result of me being healthier and happier far outweighed any of those. As it was I was lucky enough to have a text book experience. My goodness those general anesthetics are marvelous! :-)
Keep in mind the end result and why you are doing this. You will be on your way to a happier healthier life before you know it.
Wishing you all the best. Please keep us posted on how you get on.
It will only get worse until the surgery, that is the nerves
It was my second major surgery in my life and even though I am a little drama queen when it comes to pain, I am already feeling quite good on day 5.
You can do it, write down all these emotions and remember what you are doing it for.
Don't feel bad, that is a normal feeling. You are facing one _ell of a change in your life. I will say this, you will be amazed and feel so awesome in a few weeks. Best of luck to you and you have made a great decision, you will feel like a new person in no time!!
