Default Low Carb 'Replacements' and suggestions

I've posted a few ideas in separate threads, but thought it would be a good idea to have a post with good low carb ideas.

    My request:
When posting items, if possible try to include the following info:

    1) Full name of product
    2) Website if known
    3) if found in grocery store, name/location of store (by location, I mean city)
    4) Approximate cost. We know low carb stuff is more expensive, but it's nice to get an idea
    5) Nutrition info where available.

I'll post a bunch of my finds (some are duplicates)

    Cali'flour pizza crusts
    https://www.califlourfoods.com/
    Bought at Kroger.
    $11.99 for two crusts
    Per 1/3 crust
    90 calories, 6 grams fat, 2 carb, 1 fiber - net 1 gram carb. 8 grams protein

Expensive, but so delicious. Don't cook directly on oven rack, or you'll have a mess on your hands. Overcook. If overcooked, these are amazing!

So not really amazing, but something I didn't think about.

We all like chips. But chips are generally full of carbs. I haven't found any that aren't.
I love crackers, but again - loaded with carbs.

I LOVE hummus, but it usually requires a nice crunchy vessel to enjoy. I don't generally eat hummus with a spoon.

So while out shopping with my wife yesterday, we walked down the chip aisle and I bought something I haven't eaten in years -

    PORK RINDS!

    Per serving (1/2 ounce)
    80 calores
    4.5 grams fat
    0 CARBS!!!
    9 grams Protein

They have flavored pork rinds - makes them actually taste OK. But with some hummus, these are amazing!

Glenn, this is a lovely idea. I really haven't found anything other than Premier Protein shakes, and best price in our area is Sam's Club. We don't have a Costco, and our BJs has quite carrying them.

    Thanks for doing this!

Found some sandwich wraps at costco.

I'll try to take a pic of them later and will include the brand info then.
I have zero idea what I paid for these, but they weren't expensive.

    a serving size is 1/2 a square. I usually eat 1/2 a serving (1/4 square)

Per serving (double what I eat)
    80 calories
    11 grams carbs
    5 or 6 grams fiber
(5 or 6 grams total carbs)

    So a 1/2 serving -
    40 calories
    5.5 grams carbs
    2.5-3 grams total carbs

It tastes really good - in fact, my step kids are using this for lunch this week, so I've had to buy more.

    Black Bean and Edemame Pasta

    https://www.explorecuisine.com/

Found at kroger & Heb here in houston
I pay about $4 a box. That's a lot more expensive than regular pasta, but based on my serving size a box lasts me a LONG time.
serving size is 56grams (2 ounces)
I usually add 15 grams to my vegetarian chili so I'm eating about 1/4 serving here

Info is per serving - this is for the Black Bean Pasta.

    215 calories
    2 grams fat
    23 grams carbs
    12 grams fiber
    11 grams net carbs
    25 grams protein

Info is per serving - this is for the Edamame Pasta.

    180 calories
    3.5 grams fat
    20 grams carbs
    13 grams fiber
    7 grams net carbs
    24 grams protein

My pleasure. Hopefully this helps folks out there. Low carb is NOT easy, but it's not impossible either.

I'm only posting stuff I've tried and recommend!

All the craze nowadays seems to be Cali'flour this or that.

READ labels. The Cali'flour pizza crust is extremely low carb. Other califlour pizza crusts I've seen in stores is 20+ grams carbs per serving. That's 1/2 of a regular pizza crust, but - for me anyway - still way too high.

On low carb chips you can microwave turkey pepperoni and it'll crisp into chips.

I've heard kale chips (baked in the oven) are really good too. I'll have to try that.

On Facebook there are HEAPS of low-carb groups.
People who cook using natural unprocessed ingredients.

    I am one of them.
