HI! I was wondering if anyone found that after a few months of losing weight they become amenorrhea. I am 52 and don't know whether the lack of the period is due to menopause or because I have lost allot of weight fairly quickly in a short space of time. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar thing happen

I didn't develop amenorrhea. Then again, I was 34 at the time I was sleeved.

According to biomedical research, the average woman enters perimenopause at age 51. I'd visit a gynecologist to check your hormone levels to see if they're decreasing.

Welcome to the menopause!
I had my last "period" Jan 2015, I had the gastric sleeve Feb 2015 and turned 52 in the May.

You are indeed the right age for peri menopause, but when you have your next bariatric labs, ask for hormone levels. I could not take them because of breast cancer. And as an interesting FYI, my PCP says you can have symptoms for 1-8 years, and even when you think you're done, you may not be.
