    Default 2 Weeks Pre-op

    Hi all
I started my pre-op diet yesterday, and I have Dr Dolan sleeving me on 24th October.
My weight has fluctuated between 60kg and 100kg my entire adult life. I am soooo tired of it.
Have booked a Mt Everest Trek for next year, and I plan to be a whole lot lighter. Currently 89.5kg and fairly short.
Right now I’m very emotional, probably because I’m a big drinker and I’ve gone cold turkey ☺️

Welcome, Bevo! You're on a great step to better health. I've found keeping a journal of how I'm feeling to be helpful. But I'm kinda OCD and track everything I eat and I'm a year out.

Post often, ask questions. Someone will have some good help for you!

Welcome Bevo and good luck with your journey. The Mt Everest trek is a big challenge and its great that you have it in mind. My husband and son did it a few years ago. The forum i s a great help and inspiration, especially from some of the 'oldies' on here.

    Welcome, Bevo.

Mount Everest!!! What a wonderful goal to have. This will be fun to hear about, as your health and strength improve and you train for the big deal.

BTW, I take it you're going to Base Camp, not to summit, right?

    B,
You will be so happy with the new you. More fit, healthy, agile, strong and active. Your outdoor activities will be much more satisfying and rewarding. As to drinking. I was concerned about that myself but came up with a solution. I still drink but I drink a lot less but I drink better. If I have a nice single malt scotch I have a nice 15 or 18 year old drink. If I have a glass of wine I drink the good stuff. Follow the menu progressions month to month and you will do fine. Best of luck.

I lost 18 on my pre-op diet. Honestly, the hardest part of this journey (imo) is the pre-op). But it's a great way to supercharge your weight loss, and it's super important to make the surgery a success. You've got this! My biggest piece of advice - keep busy and distract yourself until surgery.

Good luck - you've got this!

    Welcome Bevo.
Pre op weight loss varies from person to person - but that sounds pretty good to me!
I agree with Glenn, for me that was the hardest part of this whole process - but it was only 3 weeks and I knew that my life would never be the same after the surgery so it was certainly doable.
By the time your trip rolls around you will be practically running up the mountain ;-)
