    Default Famished on pre-op

Nearing the end of week 1 pre-op and I am painfully hungry.
So much so that I just had my THIRD Optifast of the day and I知 only supposed to have two.
    Today has been:
Breakfast shake then wait 30 mins, coffee with splash of milk
    Snack Optifast bar
Lunch Tin of salmon and two humongous carrots
    3pm ANOTHER Optifast bar

I知 working today - solidly from 6.30am-5pm and I am just dying of hunger.

Dinner is supposed to be protein + vegetables but I知 worried I致e already over eaten for the day.

I can稚 crack before the first week of pre-op is even over

Drink more water! Use flavoring if needed. Hot tea is also good to curb the appetite.

Remind yourself its only 2 weeks - peristaltic reaction (growling) isn't true hunger. It's just your stuff moving around.
You will not keel over on the 2 week diet and its critical to follow it to shrink your liver for optimal site of surgical area laparoscopically.

Do drink more water; have warm bone broth (it has protein). Once you have sleeve, you not be hungry any more. You got this.
    [I]HW: 240 lbs SW: 199 lbs GW: 140 lbs

    1 MO = 167.0 2 MO = 156.4 3 MO = 148.4 4 MO = 140.6
    5 M) = 136.0 6 MO = 130.0

Happy with my weight; happy with my size; over-the-moon with my health!

Remember what the end goal is.
The pre op diet is for a finite period of time.
    You can do this!

What’s the deal with some people being on all liquids and some people being on a combo of shakes and lean standard meals?

Is it determined by how high your BMI is?

I’m hovering around 35 but was higher before my pre-op diet.

Whatever your doctor does, every one is different. I don't think it has anything to do with BMI, just doctor preference. I did protein shakes and liquids, and was told if I was hungry to have another shake. It's actually the only part of this whole sleeve journey I didn't consider fun, but I only had to do it for 5 days. Now it's just a distant memory and I am no longer fat, so totally worth it.

Each surgeon seems to have a different plan. I was on 3 weeks of 3 optifast products a day (I did shakes and bars) and up to 1 cup of vegetables. It was the hardest part of the whole procedure but it really wasn't all that bad and I was focused on the end result. Also I knew that it was only for a finite period of time unlike any other "diet" that I had been on.

Oh man. I have been perfectly behaved on pre-op, and with 4 days until VSG I ate a dinner roll with butter and within 20mins my body has violently rejected it.
    Lesson learned.

Not to be mean or anything, but have you thought about how you will eat after your surgery?
You still can eat all the stuff you are not supposed to eat...
This was only 2 weeks, what about the rest of your life?
No judgement here, just a question.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

You actually are being totally judgemental. It doesn’t help

From all the responses you could have given, you chose this one.
    I wonder why.
