    Default Loving my new life

Hi i just wanted share with you how things have been since having my surgery in February. I decided to have the sleeve after trying and failing for many years to lose weight. I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago (diet controlled) and my family history is not good on my dads side he and and all of his brothers died in the 50's, one in his 40's. I knew i had to do something and did lots of research and felt the gastric sleeve was the best option for me so had the op in February.
I went to paris in May and we did 25,000 steps on the first day, i would never have been able to do that before losing weight, i would have not have been able to go out the next day but we did a further 40,000 steps over the next two days.
We went to portugal in June and it was the first time ive been on holiday and didnt feel uncomfortable. I was able to wear little shorts and tops and feel good. I could wear a little sun dress during the day and not have chaffed thighs despite it being hot and sticky.
I am wearing clothes i would never have dreamed of wearing before, such as skirts to the knee with tights and ankle boots. Ive had so many compliments about how good i look and it has boosted my confidence in every area if my life. My boss has said she cant believe the difference in me.
The gastric sleeve has been the best thing i ever did for myself, my diabetes has improved and ive lost more weight since i had it was last checked and all my vitamins levels are normal.
I have an actioned packed year next year as it my 50th birthday and we are off to New York and we will become grandparents in April for the first time and it is our 30th wedding anniversary and we are going on a Safari to the Serengeti. I will have so much more energy to enjoy these things. I highly recommend having bariatric surgery if and have tried and failed to lose weight over the years and your weight is affecting your quality of life weather thats physically or mentally. You only get one life so get out there and live it.

I am very happy for you.
    Wel done!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.
