    Default Surgery Update

Surgery went well. I feel great! Well, great for after a surgery. Like, I feel like I could go home great! I have minimal pain. My chronic shoulder pain is worse than this. Little bit of pressure in my upper chest and shoulders. Sipping water with no issues. Baby sips, but no pain. I think my paralysis is helping with a lot of the pain. Wheelchair perk.

My boss said people are already asking about me. Haven’t even been gone a day. #jobsecurity

So glad I finally got this and my feet were never questioned. Didn’t even take off my compression socks.

And I am headed home. Just waiting for my dad to come get me.

A little pain dressing, but I’ll have help with that at home. Looking forward to see my dog and my friend is bringing her baby over for a visit.

Now, to super heal these feet while I’m recovering.

Kristi, seeing your dog will be a big help! I'm so glad you're ever present dad is with you to help with the trickier moves needed to dress. And staying off your feet will help. Love you to the moon, girl!

So blessed the appeal was approved, and you are on the right side of the surgery!

A little sore today. Caved and took some liquid Tyenol. I'm tired. Still on work time and was up at 6 AM and didn't even have single alarm set.

I got on the scale and I gained two pounds. I know I am full of fluid and gas. Not passing much gas or burping much. It's expected after surgery, but was so hopeful for a decrease. I also had a hiatal hernia that my doc repaired while in there.

Was able to tolerate a chewable Pepcid. Still having trouble taking a deep breath, but I think that will get better as the gas and pressure escapes my body. Hopefully soon the pounds will come off.

I don't think liquid tylenol counts as "caving". And possibly with the limited range of motion, the gas and pressure will take a bit longer to pass. The fluid gain kinda freaked me out the first 5-7 days, but then it came off steadily.

I have not exercised this past year, other than just my ADL life, which includes about 3500 steps a day. And I've consistently loss. So just know it will come and you'll be excited. I have also found that Value Village (the kidney center thrift department store) has been my best help as I changed sizes on a budget.

    You've got this, girl!

I weighed again today and was down 4.6 pounds!! Woo!! Pretty happy with that. Also, had a bowel movement so I don't have to worry about that anymore and made the left side pain ease up a bit.

I have yet to feel hungry so I am setting alarms to eat an ounce or two of something. I do need to get more protein in that is for sure. Water intake is fantastic. Clear pee. I was taking baby sips, but now I can take a good drink outta my water bottle.

The doc and I discussed on possibly not being able to feel full so I will definitely have to be very good about measuring what I eat. If I have to put it in a medicine cup and/or weigh it that is OK with me. They told me what to look for with a leak as well.

So far so good. I've been in worse pain then this. And icing the stomach helps too.

Looking forward to that scale moving DOWN!! <3
