Hi,
New to this forum after reading/lurking for a couple of months. My husband and I live in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and moved here from Birmingham, Alabama (hence the title of my post) about 7 years ago. I've got the same story as everyone else except I didn't start having weight issues until my late 20's after I had my first child. My bad eating habits caught up to me and it's been the proverbial roller coaster since then. Like a typical wife and mother, I have never put myself first and have always given up my wants for my family's but we are empty nesters now and it is now MY time! I've been putting my blow money away for the past couple of years and almost have enough money for WSL. Leaning towards the sleeve in Mexico and am researching doctors/facilities now and hoping to have surgery February/March 2019.

It's Big and amazing to be in the space within yourself when you have not been in the regular place of doing so!

I am only 7 months from my surgery but the changes are all so positive, the numbers on the scale are just the bonus.

Wonderful you are here. It's a solid place for support and advice of a uncommonly good information that sometimes the docs don't know to tell us.

Congratulations on putting your self first. You deserve this!
I found that at the beginning of my journey I was very self centered and focused on what I needed to do.....very unlike me. I decided that I was definitely worth it and still am.....so are you!

Welcome Konagirl! It is a pretty amazing surgery. Now is a great time to read as much as you can about the surgery and ask all your questions. The more you get prepared now the better it will be when surgery time arrives. And always reach out when you need help. This is a really great supportive group.
