Default Embarrassing question, diarrhea at 21 months out

I read a lot about people being constipated, I have the exact opposite: I have a lot of diarrhea.
Needless to say, that does not help me to gain weight, which I would like actually.
I take immodium regularly, which sometimes seems to help.
But when I have to "go", I really have to "go"... fast.
    Anyone with this problem?
Is there something else I can take, preferably on a natural basis?
I had my 2-year check up, no weird things there.
    This is getting very annoying...

I do not eat or drink dairy products, except for cheese.
I don't eat sugar or simple carbs.
I stay away from processed foods.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Do you still have your gallbladder? Some of my friends who do not have their gallbladder have this problem who have had the surgery.

    I still have my galbladder.
I don't eat much fat either... just enough.

    My macro's are all good.
    Fibres also okay.

    Hi Dutch
Maybe a visit to your GP is in order (if you haven't already been) as any change in bowel habits should really be investigated.
Not a fun problem to have.

Yeah constant diarrhea is not good at all. Maybe you are eating too much vegetables and not enough other stuff. So since you have cut a lot of things out of your diet and are eating mostly protein and veggies it could be that. My dad had bypass and went vegetarian for a long time and he had the same issue from the high amount of vegetables.

    Too many veggies?
    This made me think.

    Maybe too many fibres?
My fibre intake is quite high, around 40 grams per day.
    Could that be it?
    I also feel bloated...

I will cut back on the fibres this week and see what happens.
Thanks to all of you for thinking with me!

I also just found out, that I am probably eating too many indigestible fibres, (oligofructose), which is known to be a product that causes bloating and diarrhea.
It is one of the ingredients in my protein bar.
I will see what happens when I don't eat that for a while.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me?

I had my last protein bar on monday, so I have not eaten those things for 3 days now.
    Alle goes well.
    No more diarrhea since.

I sure hope this stays that way.
Thanks Christie, for pointing me in the right direction!

Sorry you've had this issue and so tickled Christie was able to spot the issue! For healthy fiber, steel cut oats are wonderful. Add protein shake instead of milk.

    Thanks Annie!
I eat oatmeal, with nuts, seeds and some fruit daily with soy milk, for breakfast.
    I really like it.

But things seem to get better, hurray!

Oh I missed this but I am pleased you worked it out. Those kind of problems are unpleasant! :-)
