Default This has been a challenging week!

It looks like i'm in the midst of a stall. Not worried about that. But there have been other challenges.

Monday after work I went to the movies with a bunch of folks from work. I forgot to have my afternoon snacks at work - I wasn't hungry then.

Luckily the theater sold beef jerky. I had a bag of beef jerky (2.5 ounces). Entire bag was 23 grams protein, 1.5 grams fat, 0 grams carbs, and 200 calories total. Phew!

Last night I went to the ball game, in a private suite. Food everywhere. I did eat before going there. While at the game, I had water (no liquor until I reach goal) and i had a ham sandwich. They were small sandwiches, and I ditched the bread, so I only had protein luckily. I'm sure the ham was fattier than I'd buy in the grocery store, but it wasn't very much luckily.

Tonight I'm going to a political rally. I'm leaving candidates and party out of this because this is not political. But the rally is at an italian restaurant. But I looked at the menu. I just need to decide now on grilled chicken or grilled salmon.

It's definitely easier to make good choices post surgery. But sometimes it's not always easy. Especially at the ballgame!

Sounds like you're doing great! I haven't been to the movies in ages, but I'm sure I would have had some popcorn. Lol

    You did great!
    You nailed it.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Great choices. At the ballgame I always choose the peanuts as the least unhealthy snack.

When you're able to eat popcorn those 98% fat-free brands are very low in calories/fat and high in fiber. Makes a good snack. I buy the little individual serving bags.

Good on you for making great choices. Sometimes our choices are limited but usually we can find something.
I always have a look at an online menu before I go out for dinner so that I am prepared and can order something appropriate . I also take a protein bar with me to places like sports games/concerts etc just in case there isn't anything I feel that I can have. We are big rugby league fans in my family and regularly go to games to support our team. As the games are over Winter I now take a small food flask with some chicken casserole/thick soup or similar. The food choices at the ground are really only fried offerings and no-one notices/cares that I am eating something different.

So maybe you need to eat a little more?! When I stalled it was always time to up my caloric intake. Can't hurt to try.

You made great choices. And if you're just now stalling, then it's not too big of a deal that you have now. Keep up the great work!

so the political rally was a lot of fun. Afterwards, I posted a pic on facebook.

    I had two private messages.

"And dang, friend, you're lookin' slim! Good work, whatever you're doin'"

    and

    "you look slim too"

Wow. That's always great to hear.

Still got a long ways to go, but this definitely helps to keep me motivated.

Pic from last night attached (political candidates removed!)

    Onya!!
Aren't you meant to choose a hot dog at a ball game? I only know this from the movies. In real life I would be wandering around asking where I could find the shrimp and grits!!! I NEED TO TRY THIS STUFF!
Nice choices though, I second Christies advice to eat something more because of the stall.... a hot dog or shrimp and grits maybe LOL

    Great job Glenn!

I agree that knowing what is available where you are going is a plus! I hope to have that will power in a few weeks, when I go out for my birthday.

I know you'll keep it up!
