    Default Hormone levels after surgery

I was wondering, to anyone out there with an answer,

How do your hormone levels change as a result of the surgery? I'm currently having the worst case of PMS in a long time. I have PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome) with a tendency to have horrendous menses. I've been on a low dose of progesterone at the beginning of each month for a few years now, and it has helped with the symptoms. I took it like I am supposed to, but my pms is terrible. The dr. did say I might be able to get off it soon once my body adjusts. But are hormones stored in the fat I'm losing? I have been a cranky, belligerent person, which is not like me. Will this end? and SOON!

Any advice or resources would help immensely.

    Thanks,

    ~*~Christina~*~

You might have to change that dose of progesterone Christina, possibly. Its worth having an appointment with you GP or gynaecologist to discuss it. I know that hormones go a bit crazy after this surgery but it seems settle down again. I don't have a good relationship with progesterone as it gives me exactly the symptoms you are describing. I wonder if you even will need it anymore as you lose weight. Anywho... go ask the experts. Also congrats on your weight loss so far :-)

It can be an emotional roller coaster for some during the weight loss phase. Others seem to be on one end or the other. Extreme happiness (I was here) or extreme depression. I do think the extreme weight loss does play with your hormones. Most people will even out sooner or later. It is not uncommon to have hormonal changes, though.

I can't see when exactly you were sleeved, but...
When we are loosing the fatty tissues, all residues of hormones and old medication, that are stored there, come loose and start to wander around in our body, until we get rid of them.
That (among other things) is why it is so important we drink enough.
So, especially in the first couple of months right after surgery, when we loose in an insanely fast rate, there is a lot of waste products we have to get rid of.
Hence the emotional roller coaster that some people experience.
    It will get better!
    But drink, drink, drink.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

I know that hormones can go a bit crazy after surgery, but your hormone loss is too aggressive. I will recommend you to speak with a therapist about this because this decline is not acceptable. If you want, I can recommend you to take a treatment course. I know from my experience how bad it is to deal with hormone decline. After reaching menopause, I took a therapy course at the https://healthgains.com/hormones-for-men/ clinic due to significant weight gain. So, I will advise you to treat this as soon as possible.
