Do you miss anything??

The only thing so far I miss is not being able to down a big glass of cold water! I LOVE water and its hurting my heart that I can only sip it right now...

Will I ever be able to drink a full glass (or even half glass) again?

I also love ice cold water. It was very frustrating in the beginning only being able to sip water, but 5 months out and I can drink it normally but not quickly. I don't drink as much though, as I am pretty full after eating and have no room for the water.

There is absolutely nothing I miss. Who could miss being fat and miserable?

And don't worry, you will soon be able to gulp water if you want. It's just early on when your tummy is healing you are told to sip.

Water is a crazy thing after surgery. I drank it like a fish, it was the only thing I ever drank prior to surgery. After surgery I could only tolerate a bit and it had to be room temperature. Now I can drink cold water again, and can polish off a bottle pretty quickly. The thing is, I just don't want to drink it so much. I only want splenda sweetened tea. It has gotten better to where I will crave water and only water lately. It's taken a long time though.

I too miss being able to drink water quickly. I used to gulp down a bottle in less than a minute every morning pre-surgery. Now, I just try to sip all day long.

I was able to drink water fairly well just a couple days after surgery. I don't drink a bottle as fast as I used to, but it doesn't take me to long to down a bottle.

I don't miss struggling to fit in a concert seat. I don't miss having sleep apnea. I don't miss waking up tired everyday. I don't miss taking blood pressure pills daily. I don't miss having no energy. I don't miss my old triple-X clothes. And soon I won't miss my X-Large clothes. I don't miss knee pain walking up stairs. I don't miss frequent gas from overeating.

Nothing I might miss is worth going back to the things I don't miss!

All in good time. I don't miss anything. I don't miss being ashamed when looking at pictures of myself. I don't miss eating more than my husband. I don't miss always wanting to eat. I don't miss feeling frustrated when I could not find anything in my closet that looked decent. I do not miss going shopping and wanting to cry when I tried on clothes. I do not miss any of that. I only wish I could have not missed those things sooner!
