    Default Pre-Op Diet Begins!

Last night I said goodbye to food. My family all prepared me a really nice meal and for the first time in a really long time the entire family was there to enjoy it with me. I had my most favorite meal in the world (My mothers home made lasagna) knowing that once I have surgery there is a really good chance my feeling regarding pasta will change.

It was nice seeing the whole family there together to cheer me on and help through this. It felt like I was ready to start this new chapter.

Today is Pre-op day 1 meaning I now have to get through 3 weeks of this diet. I found a really nice protein shake that tastes exactly like chocolate milk which is amazing! I can't stand Opti-fast or normal weight loss shakes.

Going good however only early morning.

Any one have any tips on how to deal with my sour mood a couple days in? I really don't want to yell at anymore or feel as tho I am out of it while i am at work. or any tips at all for the pre op stage?

    thanks all!

No advice about pre-op diet as I didn't have one, but I want you to know you'll be having and loving your mama's lasagna before you know it... just a smaller portion. My husband makes fantastic lasagna, and was requested to make it last week for visiting family. I ate it three times, and enjoyed every bite.

Time flies, and this part will soon be over. You've got this!

My advice is to keep busy. You won't have as much time to be hungry, cranky and ornery...I took up making lanyard keychains again. You can read, play games, crosswords...the list is endless. Go for a walk. Just don't give yourself too much unguided time. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. Nothing is more true in the prep diet. Thankfully my family understood. But I Still felt bad when I was too cranky. This too shall pass.
    Good luck!
