    Post 4 years post, gained back weight

    Hello,

    I have gained back 1/2 the weight within a year, I am 4 years post. Can I get a revision even though I am not as a heavy as I was when I originally did it?

    Hi,
    I am scheduled to have a sleeve in October, can you tell me what did you do to gain the weigh?
    Did you have restriction.
    May be you can help others so we do not fall on the same path.

    HW=265 lb
    SW= 251 lb
    1 Mo= 235 lb
    2 Mo= 221 lb
    3 Mo= 216 lb
    4 Mo= 212 lb

    I am sorry to hear about your regain.
    Why do you think you need a revision?
    Is your restriction completely gone?
    English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    It is still possible to lose weight because even after four years, you must have restriction compared to before the sleeve.
    Tracking can help, protein first etc...a diet will require less willpower than before the sleeve, but it can also take more time, especially to stabilize when you reach your goal.

    But you could also check with your surgeon. From a conference I saw a few months back, the surgeon was saying that usually it's more efficient to do a by pass if the sleeve is not successful. The main issue is that the same regain can come back after a by pass if you can't identify why you regained in the first place.
    Good luck!

    A revision won't change how you are eating, and I can't imagine insurance would pay for it. Are you going to have surgery every time you gain a lot of weight?

    Get back to the basics of how a sleeved person should eat. Protein first, then veggies, then good carbs if room at every meal. No junk food. Take your vitamins. Don't drink with meals. Exercise. You can eat much more now, so don't. I'm almost 5 years out and have restriction when I eat properly.

    I know if you eat how you should you will lose your weight. My husband has lost 35 pounds just by eating how I do and exercising, and he didn't have surgery.

    Best of luck to you!

    Follow the program! The sleeve is a tool, not a cure all. You will lose all your weight pretty easily, the trick is keeping it off. I've done that for over 4 years now. I still eat how I was taught to in the beginning. I love to exercise. I weigh myself daily so there are no surprises. You can't go back to how you used to eat, you must change your lifestyle. And it really isn't hard, it becomes a habit. I love my closet full of small clothes, you can bet I won't be gaining back my weight and buying all new clothes again.

    I am confused. Did you have a revision? Your tracker shows 12 days since surgery.

    It does drive me nuts when people don't answer.
