    Default Tomorrow's the Day!

So excited my date for WLS is finally here! It's been about 6 weeks since I received the 8/29 surgery date and I don't think I've gotten more than 5 hours sleep any night since. It's a lot of info swirling through my head and a lot of change that will happen. I'm so extremely blessed to be given this opportunity for better health, improving/resolving my diabetes, hbp, high cholesterol and kidney issues. I'm so ready for a better life. I check into the hospital at 8am tomorrow morning and I guess I'll be updating everyone later this week- if not sooner. Thanks for the support!! See you on the other side of WLS!

You will be fine, but don't underestimate the amount of gas pain you will have. My daughter and I were sleeved yesterday and the gas pain has settled between by shoulder blades and radiates to the right shoulder. Taking percoset crushed in water is horrendous. I am hoping the next few days get better.

Congratulations, all will go well tomorrow! I think we have all experience the nervousness of the surgery the week of and especially the day before. I know I was! Just make sure that you walk, walk, walk, and WALK! By walking you won't experience trapped gas. I was up walking 3 hours after my procedure, I was doing multiple laps around the nurse station. There was just discomfort I experience, like if I did too many sit ups and crunches. Can't wait for your update! Get some rest if you can!

Thanks Everyone!! I made it through surgery and I'm doing well. When the surgeon opened me up he did discover I had a hiatal hernia, so he repaired this before performing the sleeve. I've only ever had mild reflux issues and never knew about the hernia. Well the recovery from that is the worst part. It felt like someone had my clavicle in a pair of voice grips last night. I had a small meltdown from that pain. But now in doing well and really only on Tylenol for pain. I was supposed to only stay one night but with the additional procedure done, I'm staying a second night. Which is fine by me, I love being taken care of. Thanks again for all the well wishes!!

Yay! I recommend getting a wedge for sleeping for the first week at home. Just take it easy and make sure you stay hydrated. The pain goes away - and so do the pounds!

Thanks, that's a good idea. I still have the one that we bought for my son's crib a couple years ago. I'll try that out!
