    Default Motivate Me!

Mom passed away August 2nd, and between weeks in the hospital before she passed and then emptying out her apartment with den alone (that took 3 days), then planning a funeral out of state, and now being home with all the work involved (thank you notes, and trying to figure out her finances, etc.) I feel like I have no time for myself.

Everyone should have more than one child so one person doesn't have to do all this alone.

You guys all know I am the biggest fan of exercise, and I'm in such a slump I haven't even been hiking. So yell at me! Tell me the work will get done if I take an hour or so a day for myself! I know it's true. At least I haven't gained weight.

I am so sorry for your loss. you have gone through a lot in the last months.....Ok here is your yelling!- Get back out there! The endorphins will clear your head and give you a boost and give you clarity. There is such beauty in nature and you could use a little beauty in your life right now. I’m sure you know that you need to make time for yourself and put your self first at times, so you can be stronger, make good decisions, and feel more capable with the job at hand! Bless you.

My condolences to you. You have to recharge in order get through all you have to do. So if outdoor activities will do that, then you have permission from everyone.

Bought this shirt today to motivate me to get out of my slump. First time shopping in over a month was fun, but I still haven't taken my hike.

Sraebaer, I'm truly sorry to hear this news. Given what your mother was going through I'm not surprised to hear that she has passed.

About your exercise ... you will love getting back out there. And I have no doubt you'll do so very soon. You're such a great exerciser. And it really is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

I hope you're able to grieve your mother's passing in ways that are best for you. Speaking from experience, a mother's passing is no small thing. Yes, a loved one's post-death funeral, memorial services, paperwork, and other logistics are draining. But those things aren't all that will drain your energy in coming days and months. Everyone grieves differently. However your grief manifests, I hope you are able to devote the energy it requires of you.

I know you know all this, including the truth that grief is not weakness. <3

Sharon, I'm so sad for you, and I think packing and stress take a great deal of energy! When you're ready, you'll be outside again. But the "holler" at you is go sooner rather than later. Be kind to yourself and take that breather! Prayers and love!

I am so terribly sorry for you for your loss.

Maybe even just a gentle stroll along a beach or river front - getting back out into nature - may give you peace?
    All the best x.

    Sraebaer,

    Hello,
I am so sorry for your loss!
My heart goes out to you.

Yes, you must do what is necessary for all the duty that has fallen on to your shoulders.

But... Nurture your self and go and be in touch with Nature which you know is your love and promotes your sense of well being.
When did you usually take the time for your exercise morning if so, That's what you need to do.

As close to what you used to do.
How about a day off for you clear one whole day.
It sounds like you know all of this so perhaps you just needed a gentle reminder that you need time for you.
    My thoughts are with you.
    xx

You're right Ann, the more the "work" is winding down, family gone home, the sadder I am. She was almost 92, and ready to go (told me every day "I wish the good Lord would take me"), but it's still hard to lose your mother. I called and visited every day, and it's weird to have no one to call.
