Default Jumping in the deep end

So, I've been wanting to start a work-out plan for quite some time. I've been very lucky to lose the weight I have without working out.

That said, today I am going to my first kickboxing class. A few people from work go to this gym and love it. They alternate days between kickboxing and a total body workout (like HIIT.) I'm kind of excited and also nervous. Wish me luck!

Good luck! Once upon a time when I used to work out, kickboxing was my absolute favorite, I loved it so much. I can't wait to get back into it.. have a blast!

Well I did the whole class and didn't die. I may have almost died a few times, but I didn't actually die.

The trick with exercise is to find something you love. If you try the classes and they are not for you, try something else. For example I love to ride my bike but totally hate the spin classes at the gym. (OK, only tried it once but yuck). I basically love outdoor sports. The gym is only for when it's WAY too hot or WAY too cold. (So above 95 or below 20 degrees).

If you find something you love you'll stick to it.

Wow that is awesome! I was doing Muay Thai (kickboxing) before I had my surgery which just happened on 08-12-18. I loved it a lot! I am hoping that the 6-8 weeks I can't do it doesn't make me complacent and I have the drive to get back in there when I can. You are going to do great!

I'm going back today to try the HIIT class. We'll see what happens.
