Divorced 53 y.o with no children (three furbabies- cats) who is scheduled for sleeve on Sept 5th, 2018 after a long 18 month pre-op journey.

My surgeon originally wanted me to lose 20 lbs and then he added an additional 10 lbs before he would approve me for surgery. Will get my final labs done tomorrow, final pre-op nutrition appt on 8/22 and mandatory family appt with surgeon on 8/23.

Will begin the official two week liquid diet on that date as well. We are required to purchase the surgeon's protein shake powder and vitamins from his office. It will be $215 out of pocket cost.

The hospital called today to do my pre-registration over the phone so it's finally becoming all too real.

Welcome Breanna. I hate that they are making you buy the shakes from them. Is it just for pre op? The reason I say this is that post op my taste buds changed and the $55 bag of shake mix I enjoyed pre op and purchased the date of my surgery ended up in the trash. Yup. I could not tolerate it.

Have to buy four canisters of his protein powder - two for pre-op and two for post-op. I truly hope that I will be able to tolerate them afterwards as well.
