Hello Everyone, two surgeries in five months?

I'm in the early phases deciding on a gastric sleeve. I haven't even gone for a consultation yet. I am here because I completely forgot that surgery was an option in weight loss. I am probably going to have to wait a while for the actual procedure because I have an unrelated surgery scheduled with 6-8 weeks recovery time. It would be great if I could schedule both surgeries before the year is up for insurance, out of pocket reasons. The plan would be to start the gastric sleeve process while going through the first surgery recovery and have the second procedure as soon as I am cleared by the first surgeon. I will definitely keep my journey updated.

Hi, welcome here.
Not that I am an expert by any means, but the daughter of a good friend of mine also had a brain tumor removed.
The aftermath of that surgery took a long time, certainly longer than the time you mentioned here.
So, please be careful, listen to your neurosurgeon and especially, listen to your body.
This is definitely not something you want to rush.

Welcome! The brain tumor surgery sounds pretty serious and would take a lot of time to heal from. The Gastric surgery is serious and will take time to heal from as well. It takes time to even prepare for the surgery. You have to be in the frame of mind that this is what you want to do and you are willing to be commited to doing all the necessary steps required in preparation that will eventually lead you to your life changing as a whole as you know it. Take as much time as you need and don't rush both surgeries. I wish you all the best in both of your journeys to better health!
