I also work for the hospital where I had my procedure done. There is the Facility fee (which you are talking about) and then the Surgeon and all those other docs....like in my previous note; Radiologist, Pathologist, etc. I had an excellent team taking care of me and I know that because they are my colleagues!

Hospital alone was $43673.65. I ended up having to pay $2264.05. I too work at the hospital where I had my surgery. I talked with someone who had the exact same surgery at the same hospital, but she was self pay. She paid about $20000.

Oh theres nothing to decide anymore

My portion is 2709. I'm paying 1/3 up front and will be billed the rest. Surgery is going to happen on 8/14.

My insurance was billed approx $165k. They paid over $60k. I had a $200 copay. I live in Manhattan and stayed overnight in the hospital.

Wow! I was self pay in NZ and the total cost was $20,000.00 and that includes all my follow up visits (for 2 years).
