    Default Surgery's Been Approved

After over 6 weeks of waiting for the Pre-Authorization, I've been approved. Surgery date is 8/29/2018. I couldn't be more excited or nervous. I am thrilled to begin this weight loss journey and get healthy for myself and my family.

I will be drawing inspiration from you all that have gone before me. So feel free to send me advice and good thoughts!

    Thanks!

    Congrats on your date!
What kind of advice are you looking for?

Start practicing nor drinking and eating at the same time, from 30 minutes before your meal, till 30 minutes after you finished your meal.

    Start saving up some money:
    - new clothes
    - new shoes (also your feet get smaller)
    - memberships gym etc.
    - resizing jewelry
    - wls vitamins (I have ordinary over-the-counter ones)
    - exercise clothing and shoes
    - protein drinks are not cheap
    etc.
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

Thanks for the advice DutchSleeve! I have been practicing thoroughly chewing my feed. From years of having less than 30 minutes to each lunch, I tend to take big bites, barely chew and swallow. So this is tough. I do need to work on the not drinking before and after eating. I've always tended to drink the majority of my calories. This will be a life changing surgery and I intend to make the best of it.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to the fun side of the weight loss as well. Every time I think of the pain, recovery and major life changes I try to think of how exciting it will be to see my body changing, having more energy, taking less medications and being able to shop, wear clothes I've never been able to wear as well as do activities I've always stayed away from.

Congrats on getting your surgery date. Use this time to read up as much as you can. Do not stock up on anything as taste buds can change post op. Be sure to take progress pictures and measurements now and every 2 weeks post op.
