Default Question for those that had A LOT to lose.....

I'm going to sound like a spoiled whiny brat but here it goes....
My weight loss has slowed down quite a bit. I only lost 6 pound last month as compared to over 10 pounds every other month. I know I can't always lose that much but 6 pounds feels like a failure. For those of you that had 100 plus pounds to lose, did the last 40 or 50 come off more slowly? Why is it like that? Maybe I need to review my eating if this isn't normal.....Please advise...Thank you!!!!!!!

Yes, as time goes by you WILL lose weight more slowly. Check out my monthly weight losses in my sig block below. BTW, those are very normal weight losses for someone who was OUR size.

In my case, I lost 100 pounds in all. I lost almost 20 pounds pre-op, then lost another 65 during the first 9 months post-op. Then it took another 9 months for me to lose the final 15 pounds.

Seriously -- it matters not a whit how long it takes you to lose all your excess weight. But what DOES matter is how rigorously during that time you're building a new healthy lifestyle and practicing NOT using food as medication for all the feels you once used food to numb.

After all -- maintenance is the biggest challenge for most of us. It's the healthy eating and exercising lifestyle you are building now that will help you maintain your weight loss long-term. Maintenance offers the most valuable rewards of this journey.

    You're doing great, Gege.

As Ann has said the weight loss does slow down - but as long as you are doing the right stuff it will keep going. 10 months out I am still losing but it is at a much slower rate that when I was first sleeved.
Ann has the best advise "Seriously -- it matters not a whit how long it takes you to lose all your excess weight. But what DOES matter is how strongly you're building your new healthy lifestyle and practicing NOT using food as medication for all the feels you once used food to numb".
If you concentrate on this you will be just fine.

Fantastic results! And yes, as your body strives for equilibrium in everything it slows down - and your lower rate requires fewer calories to sustain as well. Patience in developing good habits!

    Thank you all!
This journey is not the same for everyone, that I have learned but it's so nice to have people that have been there to ask questions. I appreciate your replies and advice. I am focused and ready to finish this thing no matter how long it takes. Just glad to hear others have been there.

You're doing great! I've lost 100 lbs, and I noticed after the 100 lb loss, things really started slowing down. I lose about 5 lbs per month now.

What Ann said. I lost quite a bit quickly and then started losing only about 1-2 lbs every 1-2 weeks. But in the end I lost 99 lbs and I cannot complain. I am very happy with my results. Once you get to the end, you will look back at this post and laugh at the fact that you were worried.
