    Default After the 4th

So, here's another post for accountability. I hardly ate a thing yesterday but I drank an entire bottle of wine throughout the course of the day. I was SO BORED! We had big plans to grill on our brand new grill we just bought Tuesday and I was going to lay in the sun and float and swim in my pool all day yesterday and then do fireworks. Nope. It rained ALL DAY LONG in Houston. It not only rained, it flooded. It sucked!! But that's Houston for ya. So, out of boredom I cracked open a bottle of wine and sipped... all day. I didn't get drunk. I drank 4 glasses of wine over an 8 hour period of time. BUT - I had those empty calories. I'm definitely retaining water today but I'm not beating myself up about it which I typically would do. It was 4th of July. I celebrated a little. No biggie. Back on track. Today I had avocado toast for breakfast (Dave's Killer Bread), grilled chicken and hummus for lunch, and will be having fajitas for dinner without the tortilla. It's more like a fajita salad sans the rice. All good stuff. One day at a time. I will break these bad habits. It's just a process I have to go through but it will happen. Just me being on the board this many days in a row is a huge step. And I'll be back tomorrow or maybe even later today. All the inspirational posts are really motivating. I used to write those posts and can't wait until I can be the author again. Keep them coming because they are helping me so much.
    One day at a time.

Well beating yourself up doesn’t accomplish anything! You are posting which I’m trying to do as well, we just need to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and get going on our goals!

You're doing well to post so honestly -- choosing (as an adult) means wanting the consequences of the choice. Not my favorite (or well learned) lesson. I avoid alcohol. My hair is so thin that my body needs every single nutrient I can get in. If I decide to have a glass of wine, I mix it 1/2 with flat soda. (No carbonation post sleeve), usually coconut flavored.

I also have learned to ask 1) am I hungry? 2) am I annoyed/mad/frustrated? 3) am I thirsty? or 4) am I bored or need of a nap? I try to have a few things on the back burner to do when its the bored answer. Like a prisoner, if I am not kept busy, I bring shame on myself, lol.

Good that you are back on track this morning. Wish we'd get some rain!

We all have our moments. My vices are still wine (Rose' is my go to now) and carbs (damn Pepperidge Farms Gold Fish Crackers and CheezIts). I have told myself that everything is ok in moderation and I still eat healthy about 90% of the time and now I am working out anywhere between 3 - 5 days a week. I agree, don't beat yourself up, it's not worth it. You look amazing.

Jessie is a rock star loser and definitely learned how to be sleeved in a non sleeved world. Trouble is, she forgot how to do that. She’s got this figured out and will drop the weight faster than she gained it. She and I have typed back and forth with each other for years now. I have helped along and in turn, she did the same for many on here. Jess has always been huge on accountability. The fact that she’s back on here and being transparent is the best thing for her.

She’s got this like you have no idea.

Pretty soon she’ll be shopping for pencil skirts again just like years ago. She’s got a thing for pencil skirts and they look good on her too!

Don’t get me started on her vampire thing.....lol......

By the way.....48 days until my six year surgaversary. With that comes the Tinman Annual Rant And Airing of Grievances. Think of it like Festivus in August.

Now...if you will excuse me, I need to moderately drink a margarita.

Ann....if you are in Htown and don’t reach out....well podnah.....

It is ok to indulge on occasion. I do. But as long as you compensate afterwards with more exercise and a little less food you should still be on track. But now my curiosity has gotten me...what is Dave's Killer bread?

Thanks, Tinman. I can always count on you for motivation. I'm living the mantra again. And for the record, I still rock my pencil skirts and stilettos. The skirts are just a size 10 now.

So looking forward to Festivus in August! Sounds like fun! (Especially since you and I are on pretty much the same mind-set with this sleeve thing Tinman.)

Just watch out, when you air your grievances some people here get offended. Which surprises me, like when one girl who had just had surgery got angry at the advice from a person at goal weight. Said the poster was mean and she would be leaving this site! No dear, she was honest, and until you reach goal you really aren't the one to give advice.

Oh wait, it's not Festivus yet.

Yeah, I had that happen to me too. This one woman called out me and tinman as "bullies" who were always bullying people with our posts because we were honest with her. We weren't at all mean. I've never been mean to anyone on this site. She just didn't want to hear the truth. She "blocked" us so she couldn't see our posts anymore which is honestly too bad for her because we could have helped her if she'd just had a thicker skin - well, had skin at all. Lol. But this bully wishes nothing but success for everyone and anything I can share that helps someone is a win-win situation.

I shall eagerly await August Festivus.

Just so you know, tinman, I did a screen shot of this post and am carrying it in my purse to pull out and read when I feel low or want things that aren't part of my plan. It's also on my fridge now. Your kind words are always so motivating to me. This post has reminded me of who I used to be, what I accomplished, and the fact that if I did it once, I can and WILL do it again.

Thanks so much for always being there to cheer me on. You're a rock!
