    Default Resubmitting

Thought my surgeon's nurse was going to resubmit to Medicaid today, but she asked for the majority of stuff from my appeal so they could see it and then my surgeon is going to write a letter of medical necessity to be submitted. I hope this is the one that goes through. Third time's a charm - right?

After last week's surprise trip to the hospital for 3.5 days this girl is ready for some good news.

My best friend had surgery today. I got an update from one of her daughter's and she was in pain, but doing well. I'll try and pop in and see her while I am up getting a vanco trough and my port needle changed before I head to work.

Would appreciate your prayers, good vibes, for an approval and soon a surgery date!

Met with the lymphodema pump guy today. Thought it was odd when he called me hun on the phone. My jaw dropped when we met. Oh was he pretty. We hung out for a good half hour. God bless him. He doesn’t think I need weight loss surgery. He’s got muscles and not an ounce of body fat on him. Sexy arms, great hair and smile. When we were all done he gave me a hug and said I smelled good. He smelled good as well. I didn’t see a ring. He does come to the VA a lot and I can’t lie I hope he’s the one that drops the pumps off. He probably has a gf, but he made my day. He was just so sweet. He said he would come see me at work. :-)

Even though I haven't been eating still gained a pound. My right leg is still quite a bit bigger than the left which is kinda normal as it is the one full of metal, however I am eager to try these pumps and get this extra fluid back to wear it is supposed to be - not on my legs and feet. Hopefully, insurance does not take too long approving it.

I will email the surgeon's nurse tomorrow and ask her to let me know once she submits everything. Not sure how long my doc will take to write his letter. Hopefully, not long.

Hope you all have a great 4th!

They were off last week so my new submittal with a letter from my surgeon went out Tuesday. Cross your fingers and toes and say a little prayer. I feel good about this one. Nothing is going to happen until I am off antibiotics, but that should be the end of July. Get the approval and we can always move the surgery date if need be. Hoping for an August surgery date though.

I saw ID today and asked if she would check my ESR which is elevated which I thought was due to the bone infection - she thinks it is because I have Lupus. I think she is wrong and this appointment was pointless. They can't SEE my feet at their office especially now that I am on a wound vac. I suggested that they just schedule ID to see me at wound clinic when I was at the hospital, but NOOOOO that would be logical. So today she is like one of use will see you this Tuesday or next Tuesday so we can SEE your feet. Gah! So missed another hour of work for a pointless appointment. Only thing accomplished was I got my nauseous meds increased a bit.

On Tuesday they put a wound vac on my feet. One vac for both feet. It's fairly small so I was able to carry yesterday and dropped it like 6 times (oops) so today I took a caribiner and hooked it under my chair. Sewed two tube socks together to cover any exposed tubing and really don't notice it until it makes a farting noise. Yes, a farting noise. Like every 5 minutes. It's quite comical. I've told my boss and supervisor who thinks I should play with everyone and say excuse me after every time it does (ha ha - no). And I've told most of my veterans. I really hope it speeds up the recovery of things, but I just think it's a temporary solution for those sores until I lose some weight and get a different chair. It's not as horrible as I thought it would be. Just something else to lug around.

Have not heard anything nor has my surgeon's nurse. It seems when they deny you that comes in a matter of days. I'm hoping no news is good news. Still on IVs so it is not like I can't get scheduled with those anyway. I see ID on August 9th and by then I would be on them about 6 weeks. They never come to my wound clinic appointments. You'd think they'd want to see the wounds! Was able to be without the wound wac for a couple of days which was nice.

Some good news. My supervisor emailed my boss and I Monday and said he was nominating me for Outstanding Secretary four our area. If I win the whole thing it's $1500 or $1800 and two round trip airfare tickets, an eagle statue and lapel pin and my name on a poster at nationals. It's a total shock to me, but I am honored. Won't know for a while if I win. It'll be 3 years in November I've been with PVA and the names on the old poster we had people had years more experience than me. Pretty cool either way.
