New member in Prince William County, VA

Hi!

I'm a new member, looking forward to my surgery on July 3, 2018. Chickened out 2 years ago when my hubby and I were doing this together. He has now lost 100 lbs... I was looking for other possibilities for weight loss that would work for me, but it just hasn't happened, so now I'm ready. Highest weight 2 years ago was 274. Weighed in last week at 264. Realistic goal is 180, optimistic goal is 150.

I'm a middle/high school science teacher, Mom, foster Mom, wife, and outspoken passionate person.

You know what it might be the most important time for you to feel that you are giving to yourself.
Reading between the lines I feel You are an incredibly busy lady.
So this could be a Big Gift to yourself.

Welcome!! Your optimistic goal is definitely a possibility, surgery date I was 255, 3.5yrs later I'm 143
It is scary to have any surgery but the sleeve was the best decision of my life, and many people here will tell you the same (about their decision, not mine ��)

Welcome Bonnie! Congrats on finally taking the plunge! I am sure it is going to be a lot easier to have your hubby there with you for advice! I think that 150 is totally doable based on your current size. It is all about following the rules and some lifestyle changes.

Hi!!! I’m in nearby Fairfax County and going with Dr Nain at the end of the year for RNY. My hormone doctor recommended your doctor to me but he was too popular/too long a wait to see him.

Stick to the plan and make the changes and I think you will easily hit your goals! It will definitely help that your husband has already done it and has been successful.

Hey, neighbor! I have another friend (fellow teacher) that is getting hers done the same day as mine. She lives in Ffx, too. I taught at Lanier Middle for 7 years, so Ffx is near and dear to me. Moazzaz is supposedly the highest rated doc in the area. If I hadn't started with him 2 years ago, I probably wouldn't have had time to get in with him again. All the docs there are great, from what I hear. We should get together sometime.

I have been seriously considering immigrating to NZ, due to the political unrest here. I'm even on a NZ teacher job notification!! LOL I love what I know about your country, and would love to just jump right down there.

Oh - I just noticed that Dr. Nain is doing the endoscope procedure on me tomorrow. :-)

OK, so it's 4 days post-op. Feeling a lot of moderate pain, but the only severe pain was in the hospital when the nurse left me for 35 minutes without my drip. The tubes connecting my pain medication ball to my stomach came uncovered this morning, so my hubby will have to get a replacement bandage.

OK, I stopped while writing this, and got about 4 hours' sleep.... and I feel much better! I actually could feel that I needed to pee!! Yay! I took a shower, changed that bandage, and I'm wearing normal clothes. Wow! Still, any sip of anything causes what I think is gas pain, so I'm going to go easy.
