Thanks again for all the advice!

I have put the scales away for now, maybe I will get them out again in a weeks time, maybe longer if my will power holds out

Its hard, no denying that at all but I did this surgery to lengthen my life and for a hundred other reasons, I will try my hardest to succeed.

Attitude is everything on this journey. You can eat crap and fail or you can eat healthy and succeed. Don't worry about the scale as much as you do worrying about the following the rules to be successful. I was so scared of failing but I trusted the process and the sound advice I received on here. You can totally do this and the only one who has the power to make you fail is you.

Dear Sraebaer...... The Viking baby is laughing at the Packer baby who is crying because the Vikes crush the Pack all the time (lol) the part you can't see is a little quote that says..... AP is coming tomorrow. Meaning Adrian Peterson back when he was actually good and played for us.

Trying is a way of saying, you're not really going to do it.
    Don't try, just do it!

    You can do this!
    Go for it!

I thought they were both crying. And according to the internet (everything on the internet is true, isn't it?) the Packers have won 60 games and the Vikings 53, with 2 ties. So you don't crush us all the time! Actually I don't care much about football, but was born in WI with many relatives in MN. Not sure why my Norwegian relatives chose the two coldest states to move to...

It's funny, but I never thought of this journey as "hard," I thought of it as fun! Maybe that's my positivity kicking in.

you need to decide if you want to succeed. I know it's easy to say, "of course I do!" but if you have a small voice that says, "I also want to eat whatever I want, whenever I want", then the voice telling yourself that you want to succeed will have to fight to be heard.

Try this: Every day, tell yourself what you're going to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and what snacks you might have (like a protein shake or a piece of fruit). When you want to eat more than that, wait until meal time. it's never going to be a long wait, but you need to build new habits and this is the easiest time to do that.

Could not agree more about the power of planning our meals every day. Four years later, that is still part of my healthy lifestyle.

    I second that!
I plan all my meals for the day.
Plus I plan and prep meals for a couple of days in advance.

I portion out my snacks, I keep them in a bin in the fridge.
They just sit there for the take.
I portion out my nuts and put them into little ziplock baggies.
I also devide my protein bars into 12 little bites, and I put six of those bites per portion in a baggie.

Point being: set yourself up for succes!

Hi Dutchsleeve, "trying" is all about context. I tried my hardest, to me, is the same as going for it 100%, I have no intention of doing anything other than my best, maybe its an english thing

    Just seeing this post.

Stop trying to test your sleeve by eating things that are not beneficial and by eating more than you should.

Get back to the plan that you are supposed to be using. Protein first, and water. Stop eating carbs (they will result in weight gain or no weight loss).

Keep a very accurate food diary. Log every single thing that you eat and drink (drinks can have calories...). Also, work exercise into your plan, even if it is just walking. At 6 weeks out you are likely just cleared for all activities so walking is a good everyday activity.

You can definitely fail at this, but, you can absolutely knock it out of the park with success!

Get back after it! Don't get down on yourself, re-double your efforts and the work will pay off!
