My favorite thing since losing 100+ pounds ....

    Gee, only one?

Here's a very simple answer that covers the challenges I've overcome, the self-care skills I've acquired, and the benefits I've obtained since I decided to have WLS:

I think no snoring anymore has made my husband very happy! For me, my favorite thing is taking a bath and not feeling like a beached whale. It was so uncomfortable getting in, up and out that I actually quit taking baths for a couple of years. Now it's soooo much easier, 46 pounds makes a difference!

Wearing skirts/dresses again without having to wear shorts underneath to prevent my fat thighs from having chub rub and not rubbing holes in the thigh area of my jeans from those big thighs. Oh, and not being constantly sweaty because I was so overweight.

Not always sweating regardless of the temperature is a definite plus, except now I'm freezing all the time.......

I usually don’t respond to these kinds of posts because it seems like bragging to me. Understand, just to me. I don’t think anyone else is bragging, just me.

Having said that, I’m going to brag.

Last week I had a project that ran up against a very hard and very expensive deadline if I missed it. The last day I spent 24 hours straight on the job site, without sleep. Someone pointed out that I have this app on my I phone that automatically tracks my steps and stairs.

For those of you who don’t know, I loathe tracking anything......except protein and water.

Call me the anti Ann. She knows I love her.

So...for kicks and giggles, I opened the app up and took a look.

For that 24 hour period, I took 27,567 steps and climbed 32 flights of stairs.

I’m a 55 year old man. I know for a fact I couldn’t have done that at 530 lbs and because of that, I would have missed my deadline and gotten fined lots of money. But, because I weight 270 lbs and exercise religiously, I was able to stay on the job the whole time my guys were there and see the project to it’s end.

    That’s my favorite thing.

    Stamina.

    - I was able to play in a student-faculty soccer game at the school where I teach, and did not embarrass myself.
    - I was able to coach my children's soccer team, which required me to run up and down the field with them (6 and under).
    - I was able to walk over 20,000 steps one day, and average over 10,000.
    - I can button 36 inch waisted pants.

Shopping, and not worrying about having to wear Spanx! It's so nice to be able to put something on and not have to worry about bulges, and there's so much more selection in a size 8/10 than a size 22!

    I love all these answers!!

    For me its:

Being able to cross my legs
Wrapping a regular size towel all around my body
    Doing stairs instead of elevators
    A lot less knee pain
Being able to buy cute clothes/bras for cheap at Target!!!!

Oh, and not sweating! I used to pour sweat all the time. It got to the point where I didn't go to any events in the summer. My friend and I went to a concert a couple weeks ago and while it was hot, barely sweated!!

I don't get tired like I did when I was fat.

    I don't feel self-conscious like I did when I was fat.

I don't stay home and avoid people like I did when I was fat.

I do any damn thing I want to do -- unlike when I was fat.

There are so many things too difficult to count. But what I like the most, and still can't believe is that now I am able to cross my legs, and wrap a bath towel around my body.
