    Default Scandi dinner tonight

So tonight I'm going to cook up a little bit of salmon to flake it and king prawns and its going to go with butter lettuce and a sour cream and tarragon dressing ... totally Scandinavian, really it would be nice on a piece of darkest rye bread but I will never get that down me even if sliced super thinly. My partner makes a loaf of darkest rye bread every 2 weeks. It takes 2 days to make and is AHHHHHMAZING. Sometimes I eat a tiny square of it in appreciation then feel like a toad. If you're going to eat bread then its worth making something spectacular. If anyone wants the recipe for the dressing or the bread shout out :-)

    What are you having tonight?

First, Edie, your Scandi dinner sounds amazing.

AND NO, I DON'T WANT THAT BREAD RECIPE! PLEASE DON'T POST IT!

Tonight for dinner I had restaurant lunch leftovers -- broiled chicken, steamed green beans and grilled zucchini with a glass of chardonnay.

In a while I'll have a cup of fresh blueberries and a little vanilla yogurt (Dannon Triple Zero Oikos).

This certainly isn't a very original dinner. But it's Wednesday night, and my dinners are pretty plain vanilla through the week. The weekend menus are more interesting. Last weekend I made a nice pork loin and have been munching this week on those leftovers.

Yum that sounds delicious. The bread sounds wonderful. I have occasionally had a piece of Vogels toast for breakfast (when I just can't stomach another protein shake) but it doesn't sit well and more.
Fresh fish for me tonight with a little bit of salad on the side. I will be having Tarakihi and my partner Salmon. I love salmon but it doesn't like me now so I stick to white fish. Later on I will probably have 1/2 cup watermelon (imported from Australia!).

Sounds lovely Ann! I am particularly fond of zucchini but I call it courgette being European. I still can't seem to tolerate yogurt unless it's drizzled in a sauce and a super small amount :-)

I would love the bread recipe. I totally agree if you're going to have bread it better be excellent bread, why waste the carbs on standard every day bread.

Can't take the Italian outta the girl :-) Im not into pizza but I had a delicious blue cheese and pear thin crust one at the bottom of the Spanish Steps in Rome a couple of years ago and it was AHHHMAZING. The thin crust makes all the difference, and blue cheese :-) and red wine.. and Rome... All of those things..

That's my bread theory too. I typically don't eat it, but if I find something amazing, like at a restaurant, I'll have some. (And I don't feel like a toad, just a normal person who had a little bread.)

Dinner tonight is Morraco Chicken in a slow cooker. Chicken, tomato, peaches, apricots, onion, and I don't know what else. Love that hubby just retired and LOVES to cook.

Oh! All of you are eating yummy food.
I loved bread but cannot eat it at all! Toad thing for me too, Edie.
I tried scallops but didn’t like them either. Salmon, nope.
Butter fish yes, I can nibble on that.
Salads, I choke on them. Probably have to cut the veggies up more.
I tried an apple yesterday and had tears running down my face because it was stuck. I didn’t chew it enough.
Gee! We have to be careful. It’s different eating now. I’m so fussy, I never was but only eat a fraction of what I did.
