Default Testosterone Pellets - What to do?

    Hi All,

I know this may be a sensitive subject but I really would like to know. I take the lady testosterone Pellets. In the doctors papers I read that you cannot be on any kind of hormones including Testosterone. I was too embarrassed to ask the doctor. I have stopped them for now but would like to continue. Do you have any thoughts?

What? You can't be on any hormones while having WLS?

I must admit that I've never heard that before.

Actually, that sounds really goofy, since lots of women are on birth control pills when they have WLS. And they're told to use an additional form of birth control for 18 months AFTER WLS to prevent pregnancy during that recovery period.

But then I don't know everything.

I would speak to your doctor. The truth is they would know best. Don't be embarrassed.

This is probably one of those questions you'll really just have to ask the doctor, unfortunately. But that's what they're there for! You shouldn't be embarrassed. No matter what your question or situation is, you will likely not be the first.

Poppycock!!!! You can take it! They wouldn't castrate men before surgery... like sorry dear you cant have any testosterone!!
Occasionally they ask women to stop taking oestrogen because of blood clot risk but generally not because you can have blood thinning injections.
testosterone is a fabulous hormone for women at a certain stage in life, we can only get a compounded cream in Australia but you US peeps get the pellets... lucky you. Also no need at all to be embarrassed about it, I wish women would talk about it more.
I'm sitting here with my partner who is a doctor and specialises in hormones... she thinks the doctor who wrote the papers is a fool. But check up yourself and viva la testosterone... fabulous stuff :-)

HI! I'm curious if you have found anything out about using the Hormone Pellets? I too am on them (Biote) and am trying to get approval for weight loss surgery. I am only 6 weeks into my first insertion and have not yet seen a my surgeon.

The doctor said the reason you don't use them is blood clots. But he told me after last visit I can do them after 3 months.
You might find out how far in advance that you have to stop them.

I just had the pellets inserted yesterday because my doctor recommends them prior to surgery because he said they help with healing?
