Default What are you having for dinner?

I've finished work early so I am going to pop down to the local fish shop. They get all their stuff from around the islands in the bay so there might be some bugs or delicious king prawns or sand crabs, mud crabs, oysters, sea mullet, summer whiting, bream, scallops, snapper. I will probably spiral some courgettes to go with whatever I buy. The chaps in the shop are delightful and usually choose for me what to buy... I think it's because I chat to them for ages and they just choose me the freshest best thing! It's all caught that day though.
If you don't like seafood and I saw that someone doesn't on here the other day, I just want you to know that we can't be friends.
JOKING!!!! LOL! But if you don't like it do try some different types and ways of cooking it. You tube is your friend or if you want to be fancy go out to a speciality seafood restaurant and try that. Fresh pan fried fish is just delicious! And not all fish is fishy if you know what I mean so give it a chance.
Right I shall pop down now and chat and laugh for an hour and come home with the best catch!! I just need Sraebaur here for dinner!!! She is a mermaid too :-)

What are you having for your dinner?

    LOL

I don't like seafood... I eat some fish like salmon, tuna and (of course) raw herring.
Hey, I live in the Netherlands, raw herring is our streetfood.

Tonight I'm having a white bean and veggies casserole.
    Yesterday I had broccoli-cheddar quiche.
Two days ago I had 0,5 veggie burger with stir fried sweet potato and lots of veggies.

    Have a nice day!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    Hi there Edie!

Well, hell...I was growing fond of our friendship within the community, and now you state that we can no longer be friends? Truly tragic. (Just kidding) I realize that this was not aimed at me, so I took the liberty of doing so all in good fun.

But I will readily admit to not liking seafood. And of the seafood I do like, most of it is deep fried (fried clam strips, cod filets, etc) - all of which I recognize as being on the bad for you list of foods to eat. Because of this, I tend to shy away from the traditional preparation of seafood. It is just to...fishy for my liking. I much prefer chicken, pork, or some small variation of red meats. But that is just me.

As you well know by now, I am a bit of an odd bird. Eccentric, really, with a flair for the obscure (my way of saying I don't always follow the rules on how things should be done.)

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi All,

    This is a Wonderful thread.
I hate cooking but... I Can cook as I enjoy food.... Yeah that was why I am here in the first place.

But Do you know what I was thinking over and over again. Its the very best having a sleeve, because I can eat whatever I like but... Its a small delicious portion that is enjoyed so much in fact more than pre sleeve because we chew, chew, chew. And then I am satisfied and I don't have guts ache or bloating.

Today we are having Seafood on the BBQ salt and pepper to season and lemon juice with a finely chopped salad and lemon juice.
I will manage 1 or 2 and so enjoy the taste of the Fresh King Prawns, I am lucky we are on the Mediterranean, so its a joy and today was market day so all fresh salad for us Rocket, red cabbage, carrot, Lettuce,Tomato and Cucumber with some pomegranate juice or lemon have not decided yet.

First time in my life that I don't feel deprived of anything and its 16 weeks today for me. 20 KG gone.
I feel in control of me for the first time.

Loving you All for everything that I learn.
    Thank You.
    xx

HI Edie, well last night I had chicken for the first time. I am having salmon tonight. I enjoy fish like fresh tuna, salmon, haddock, cod and smoked salmon. I do not eat shellfish or creepy crawlies, they do not appeal to me, but then again for religious reasons I cannot, which is probably why they don't appeal. I try and have some sort of veg with the main. I love asparagus steamed, but I was told to avoid for the time being as they are apparently hard to digest. I don't mind eating vegetarian food either. x

I love seafood, especially scallops, crabs, shrimp, & lobster and since I eat so little now I can afford to make a meal of it. So jealous of your seafood, Edie! It's now crab season in Maryland so I'm in heaven. I also like to cook a couple of dishes on the weekend so I can use them throughout the week when I'm too tired to think. One is just chicken pieces, which I marinate and bake so they're in the refrigerator and ready to eat (or mix with yogurt, pickles & onions for a chicken salad). The other is ground turkey, which I cook up with some onions and garlic and then add in salsa or a little barbecue sauce (low sugar). For me, it's so important to have a couple of default proteins in my frig for when I'm in a hurry or too tired to think.

Stacey, I don't know yet what I'm having for dinner.

But I'm going to a bluegrass music festival tonight, so I know what I'll be drinking.

Now that I think about it, I might have Korean food before I go. Lately, that's become my favorite spicy food.

Have a great weekend, everyone! Although for Stacey Down Under, it's already next Tuesday.

I'm sharing a bowl of blueberry cream pie ice cream with Pita while we wait for my husband to get ready to go out. We're attending the local art walk, and will choose a restaurant while out with outdoor seating because obviously Pita will be joining us.

Oh, seafood is disgusting. I wish I liked it, but no amount of forcing it on me or "just try it" ever worked. It's gross. All of it. I live on the Gulf of Mexico, and my parents live on an island of Mobile bay where they walk out their door, catch it, clean it, cook it, eat it. Barf! I just can't do it or even smell it. I'll have a big fat rib eye steak, please
